Motorcyclist Injured After Collision With Truck On PR-340 In Ortigueira

An accident on the PR-340 left a 39-year-old motorcyclist injured on Friday afternoon in Ortigueira, in Campos Gerais do Paraná. The collision between a Yamaha motorcycle and an Iveco truck took place around 16:40, at km 347 of the highway, on the stretch that connects Telêmaco Borba to Ortigueira.
According to information from Polícia Militar Rodoviária (PMRv), through the 5th Company of the Road Police Battalion (BPRv), the occurrence was classified as cross-collision, a type of collision in which vehicles hit each other on their sides or at an angle.
The motorcyclist was travelling in the direction Telêmaco Borba–Ortigueira when, upon reaching kilometer 347, he became involved in the collision with the truck. Both vehicles had plates of the Paraná.
Motorcyclist was taken to hospital
With the impact of the accident on the PR-340, the driver of the motorcycle, 39 years old, suffered injuries considered moderate.
After the occurrence, the victim was referred to a hospital unit of Telêmaco Borba to receive medical attention.
The driver of the Iveco truck, a 53-year-old man, suffered no injuries, according to the report released by the Road Police.
To date, no updated information on the health of the motorcyclist has been passed on after his arrival at the hospital.
