Motorist injured after collision between trucks in Ipiranga
Accident occurred in the afternoon of this Thursday (29); truck driver aged 51 was taken to a hospital in Ponta Grossa
An accident on the PRC-487 at Ipiranga, in the Campos Gerais, left a 51-year-old trucker injured on the afternoon of Thursday (29). The cross-sectional collision between two trucks was recorded around 3 p.m., in a stretch of highway that gives access to BR-373. The injured driver was referred to a hospital of Ponta Grossa.
According to information from the State Highway Police (PRE), the accident involved an Iveco Stralis truck, with plates of Francisco Beltrão, and a Volkswagen 30.320, registered in Castro. The incident was attended by officers of the 5th Company of the Road Police Battalion (BPRv), linked to the station of Ponta Grossa.
How the collision happened on PRC-487
According to the police report, the Iveco Stralis truck, driven by a 55-year-old man, was traveling towards Ipiranga at the junction with BR-373.
The other truck, a Volkswagen 30.320, driven by a 51-year-old driver, was heading in the opposite direction from the junction with the federal highway towards the municipality of Ipiranga.
At a certain point, the vehicles were involved in a cross-over collision, a collision mode in which there is an impact between the lateral and frontal parts of the vehicles, depending on the dynamics of the occurrence.
The exact circumstances that caused the crash were not clarified in the initial police statement.
A 51-year-old driver was taken to the hospital.
The driver of the Volkswagen truck, identified by the initials J.E.R.C., 51, had to be referred to hospital care in Ponta Grossa.

The driver of the Iveco Stralis, identified by the initials C.A.F., 55 years old, was subjected to the test of the ethylometer. The test presented a result of 0.00 mg/L, without indication of alcohol consumption.
The Iveco vehicle and the two Librelato semi-trailers linked to the assembly have plates of Francisco Beltrão, in the southwest of Paraná. The Volkswagen truck is registered in the municipality of Castro, in the Campos Gerais.
The police responded to the incident
After the accident on PRC-487 in Ipiranga, the Iveco truck was released to the owner, while Volkswagen was under the responsibility of a representative of the company.
The State Road Police recorded the information of those involved and the circumstances presented during the service.
The bulletin does not inform if there was a ban on the runway or the need for a diversion of traffic during the occurrence.
The PRC-487 integrates the road network used for commuting between municipalities of the Campos Gerais region and connections with other state and federal highways.
