NR-1 in condominiums: lecture in Ponta Grossa informs about psychosocial risks

The NR-1 in condominiums was the subject of a lecture held on Monday (28), in Ponta Grossa, by the Regional Campos Gerais of SECOVI-PR. The meeting brought together trustees, condominium administrators and entrepreneurs to discuss how psychosocial risks related to work become part of the occupational risk management routine.

Held at the headquarters of the entity, at the Boulevard Center, the meeting had as speakers the psychologists Sibelly Pedroso and Letícia Rosa. The discussion takes place after changes in Norma Regulamentadora no 1, which have come to expressly foresee the inclusion of psychosocial risk factors related to work in Occupational Risk Management (OHR).

The new wording of Chapter 1.5 of NR-1 has been in force since 26 May 2026. The amendment had been approved by Ordinance MTE No. 1.419, of August 2024, and subsequently had its entry into force extended.

Among the factors considered are situations related to the organization and working conditions, such as excess demands, harassment, problems in time management and lack of support to employees.

Psychosocial risks enter the management of companies

During the talk, Sibelly Pedroso explained that the update broadens the eyes of employers on the safety and health of workers.

“The change came in the part of psychosocial risks, which encompass the issue of harassment, demands, the organization of time and management. So we work the employee as a whole within the company,” he explained.

According to the psychologist, the proper application of the new requirements can also help companies and condominiums to improve the management of their teams and act preventively in the face of factors that can result in illness or withdrawal.

Letícia Rosa stressed that the organizational environment and the way employees are treated in everyday life also need to be considered by managers.

“Due to several cases that have been increasing, we have an increase in accidents and departures. So this is very important for the person, for the manager to look at these people and for the company to have a good organizational environment,” he said.

For the psychologist, the new regulation also extends the traditional concept of occupational health and safety.

“One of the main objectives of this new norma regulamentadora is to remove that mechanistic character, that character only of health and safety of work that we see as PPE, to integrate the company to the employee,” he explained.

NR-1 in condominiums requires management preparation

In the management of condominiums, the change puts trustees and companies before the need to evaluate not only physical risks existing in the professional environment, but also factors related to the organization of work and professional relations.

The condominium manager Lycio Hartmann positively evaluated the practical approach presented during the event.

“It was very interesting to talk about the activities that we will have with our employees and with the condominium staff. Very interesting, very productive explanation of the girls,” he said.

According to him, the meeting also clarified doubts about the application of the rules.

“We always have doubts about any subject, but there they clarified many points for us,” he added.

The entrepreneur Fernando Cunha Souza Filho also highlighted the importance of the preventive character of NR-1.

“It is important to raise awareness of NR-1 and, above all, the preventive nature to implement in the company and, more than that, to consolidate the health of employees,” he said.

SECOVI-PR prepares sector for change

For Mari Kermelin Meira, Director of Events of the Regional Campos Gerais of SECOVI-PR, training activities help entrepreneurs, administrators and trustees to understand how changes should reach the routine of organizations.

“Our goal is to prepare entrepreneurs in the sector for the changes that have occurred in Brazilian legislation, offering information so that they can understand the new requirements and incorporate them into the routine of their companies and condominiums,” he said.

The president of SECOVI-PR, Carlos Ribas Tavarnaro, also highlighted the importance of updating the professionals in the segment.

With the update of the standard, organizations need to identify hazards, assess risks, implement prevention measures and monitor the effectiveness of the actions taken.
