Our Lady Aparecida Race will help in the sanctuary renovation in PG

The Nossa Senhora Aparecida Race arrives for the third edition in Ponta Grossa on October 12, 2026, a national holiday in honor of the patron saint of Brazil. Organized by Paróquia São Sebastião, the headquarters of the Diocesan Shrine of Nossa Senhora Aparecida, the charity event will have 5 and 10 kilometers of races, children’s walking and running. All proceeds will be used for the renovation of the sanctuary.

The sports program will start at 6:30 a.m., with departure in front of the São Sebastião Church, located in Coronel Generoso Martins de Araújo Street, in the New Russia neighborhood.

The event will be open to the community and will feature modalities aimed at different age groups, allowing the participation of experienced athletes, beginner runners and families.

Race will have cash prizes for the first placed

The third edition of the Nossa Senhora Aparecida Race will have four modalities: 5 km race, 10 km race, walking and kids race.

In the 5 and 10 km races, there will be cash prizes for the first placed in the men’s and women’s categories.

Registration is open until October 4th and must be made by the Cavali Pro Eventos platform, at cavaliproeventos.com.br.

The values reported for the last batch of registrations are R$ 99 for the 5 and 10-kilometre races, R$ 59 for the walk and R$ 49 for the children’s race.

Participants can also contribute with food donations.

In addition to raising funds for the reform of the Diocesan Sanctuary of Nossa Senhora Aparecida, the event will have a solidarity action aimed at the care of families assisted by Paróquia São Sebastião.

Participants are invited to donate non-perishable foods, which must be delivered at the time of the withdrawal of the athlete's kit.

The donations collected will be destined to the families served by the parish, expanding the charitable character of the initiative.

Holiday will have bingo, procession and masses in Ponta Grossa

The program of the 12th of October will not be restricted to the race. The Paróquia São Sebastião will also promote religious and festive activities in honor of the Nossa Senhora Aparecida.

During the day, the public will be able to participate in a charity bingo, which will have among the prizes a Beetle, an electric motorcycle and R $ 1,000, in addition to other prizes.

The event will also feature food trucks and festive activities for participants and visitors.

In the religious program, the procession is scheduled for 2 pm, leaving the Hospital Bom Jesus towards the Paróquia São Sebastião.

After the arrival of the faithful to the sanctuary, a Mass will be celebrated in honor of the patroness of Brazil.

Two other celebrations are scheduled for 10 am and 7 pm.

Registration for the third edition of the charity race can be held until October 4, via the internet.
