The Municipality of Piraí do Sul manifested itself after the accident in PR-151 involving a Health vehicle of the municipality, registered on the afternoon of Thursday (3), in the vicinity of Carambeí, in the Campos Gerais. The municipal administration confirmed that the incident left one fatality and reported that teams are providing support to relatives.

By means of an official note, the City of Piraí do Sul, through the Municipal Secretariat of Health, deeply regretted the accident and stated that the vehicle of the Secretariat was with three people, including the driver, at the time of the collision.

According to the municipality, the circumstances of the accident in PR-151 are still being determined by the responsible bodies. The City Council said it monitors the situation and provides assistance to the families involved.

The mayor of Piraí do Sul, Henrique Cardoso, also spoke to Portal BnT Online and regretted the event. According to the head of the municipal executive, management teams have already been mobilized to provide support to the people involved and the victims’ families.

“We are providing all the necessary assistance to families at this difficult time,” said the mayor.

Health Vehicle followed for Ponta Grossa

According to information raised by Portal BnT Online, the Piraí do Sul Health vehicle was traveling to Ponta Grossa. The purpose of the trip was to exchange companions of a patient admitted to a hospital unit in the city.

The accident on PR-151 occurred during a sequence of collisions involving a truck, an automobile and the vehicle belonging to the municipality of Piraí do Sul.

Driver Antônio José Paderes, 51, reported that he narrowly escaped the tragedy. According to him, the truck approached at high speed and hit the back of his car before continuing unruly on the runway.

Antonio said he noticed the truck approaching through the rear-view mirror and tried to pull the vehicle to the side to avoid a more serious collision.

After hitting the car driven by Antonio, the truck also reportedly hit another vehicle stopped in congestion and subsequently hit the Piraí do Sul Health Vehicle.

Investigation must point to causes of accident

Emergency and security teams acted in the attendance of the occurrence and in the work of removal of the victim who was stuck to the hardware.

Initial information indicates that the truck presented a possible mechanical failure, with suspicion of problems in the brake system. However, the official cause of the accident will be determined after the investigation of the competent bodies.

The City of Piraí do Sul reinforced solidarity with the family and friends of the victim and stressed that it will continue to offer support during this moment of mourning.
