Plane touches the runway but fails to land after two attempts in Paraná

A plane that left Curitiba for Pato Branco, in the southwest of Paraná, had to return to the capital after two unsuccessful landing attempts on Monday afternoon. During the first approach, the aircraft came to touch the runway of the airport, but the pilot made a raid and regained altitude.

The situation was recorded on video and occurred amid the adverse weather conditions that affected different regions of Paraná. Despite the scare, there was no record of injuries.

The aircraft tried to land twice.

The flight, operated by the airline Azul, took off from Curitiba Airport at 1:45 p.m., with an expected arrival in Pato Branco at 3:00 p.m. During the first attempt at landing, the aircraft even touched the runway, but did not complete the procedure. The pilot made a push, a maneuver used when it is not possible to safely finish the landing.

Then there was a second attempt. This time, the plane did not come so close to the ground and again failed to land. Given the conditions encountered, the pilot decided to return to the airport of origin, in Curitiba.

Wind gusts reached 46 km/h

According to the administration of Pato Branco Airport, wind conditions were unfavorable at the time of the landing attempts. The Paraná’s Environmental Technology and Monitoring System (Simepar) recorded gusts of up to 46 km/h in the region during the period.

The episode occurred at a time of climate instability in the state, which also recorded stormy and strong wind gusts in other cities.

Airline was searched

After two unsuccessful attempts, the aircraft returned to Curitiba. There was no record of injured passengers. According to the information, the Azul airline was sought to comment on the event, but had not expressed itself until the last update of the report.

According to the information released, there were no other flights scheduled for Pato Branco Airport on Monday (21).
