Police arrest suspect in homicide in Palmeira; another remains at large

The Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR) arrested on Friday (30), a man suspected of involvement in a murder in Palmeira, municipality of Campos Gerais, near Ponta Grossa. The murder took place on October 10 in the Santa Rosa neighborhood. Another investigator, identified by police as responsible for the shooting that killed the victim, remains on the run.

The pre-trial detention was carried out by police of the 40th Regional Police Station (DRP) of Palmeira, after the advance of the investigations on the circumstances of the murder. The arrest warrant was issued by the courts.

According to the Civil Police, the victim was attacked by a group of people on a public road in the Santa Rosa neighborhood during the early hours of the morning. After the attacks, one of the people involved allegedly fired a gun at the victim.

The man was referred to a hospital unit in the municipality, but did not resist the injuries and died shortly after.

Cameras help identify suspect

The progress of the investigations into the murder in Palmeira occurred after the police were able to access images of monitoring cameras with better quality.

The new records allowed to analyze more precisely the sequence of events and identify the possible participation of another individual in the aggressions that preceded the fatal shooting.

Until then, this suspect had not been identified by investigators. With the new evidence, the Civil Police managed to advance in the count and request his pre-trial detention to the Justice.

The order was fulfilled on Friday (30). The identity of the imprisoned man was not disclosed by the corporation.

Suspected of firing continues to escape

Despite the arrest, the investigation into the murder in Palmeira continues. Civil Police are looking for Fernando Henrique Camargo, identified during the investigation as suspected of having made the shot of a firearm that caused the death of the victim.

According to the corporation, he remains on the run, and police teams continue to conduct diligence to try to locate him.

Police also seek to clarify whether other people participated in the attacks and what each of them was involved in the episode.

Civilian police call for help from the population

The 40th Regional Police Station of Palmeira requests the collaboration of the population to obtain information that can help in the location of Fernando Henrique Camargo.

Information about the whereabouts of the investigated can be sent in a secret way by WhatsApp of the police station, at (42) 99815-7095.

The Civil Police reinforces that all information received will be analyzed by the teams responsible for the investigation.

The case remains under investigation, and new details have not been disclosed to avoid damage to ongoing due diligence.
