Ponta Grossa opens debt negotiation with 100% discount on interest and fines
Adhesion starts on October 5; the program provides for cash payment and includes both tax and non-tax debts of the municipality

Taxpayers with debts in Ponta Grossa will be able to pay off debts with a discount of 100% on fines and late interest through the Municipal Tax Recovery Program (PRF-2026). The deadline to apply for membership begins next Monday, October 5, and ends on December 18, 2026.
The program was instituted by Law No. 16.117, sanctioned by prefeita Elizabeth Schmidt and published in the Official Gazette on Friday (2). The benefit requires payment in a single installment and maintains full collection of the original amount of the debt and the monetary update.
What debts enter the program
The measure includes natural and legal persons with credits due until the publication of the law. This includes tax and non-tax debts owned by the municipality and its indirect administration entities.
Debts registered in active debt, in extrajudicial protest or in judicial collection may also be regularized. The program also achieves balances from previous installments that have not been fully paid or that have been cancelled due to non-payment.
The non-tax credits covered include public prices, tariffs, property and rental income, compensation and administrative fines. In these cases, the discount applies exclusively to late charges, preserving the original amount of the charge. Fines arising from traffic violations do not enter the program.
Time to pay after membership
After the application is approved, the taxpayer will have up to two working days to make the payment, respecting the final limit of December 23, 2026. Failure to comply with this deadline will result in the automatic cancellation of the membership and the re-establishment of the debt with all legal additions, regardless of prior notification.
For debts in tax execution or collection action, the custas judiciais and the attorney’s fees shall be paid in full and will not receive the discounts provided for by law. In cases of protest, it will be up to the debtor to request the discharge after regularization and bear the emoluments.
How will membership be
The legislation provides for implementation preferably by electronic system, with remote access by the taxpayer. For debts in protest or judicial collection, face-to-face care is provided. The procedures for accession, the issuance of the guides and the collection controls will be defined by a regulatory decree.

The law does not inform the specific e-mail address to request the benefit. Membership implies recognition of the debts included and withdrawal of legal actions, remedies and administrative defenses related to these collections. The program also does not allow the return or compensation of amounts paid before its effective date.
