Recurrent holes in San Martin Tunnel prompt paving request in PG
Councilman Fábio Silva requests study for concrete paving in access to San Martin Tunnel, in Ponta Grossa, after complaints from residents
The holes in the access to the San Martin Tunnel, in Ponta Grossa, motivated a request from the councilor Fábio Silva for the responsible bodies to carry out a technical study on the possibility of concrete paving on site. The request was presented after the parliamentary follow up the problems faced by residents and drivers who use the road.
According to Fábio Silva, the conditions of the pavement have caused frequent disturbances for those who pass through the region. Although the City Hall performs maintenance services, the holes reappear, which motivated the search for an alternative to the stretch.
"I have been closely monitoring the problems, such as holes in the tunnel track of the San Martin. Even with the frequent maintenance actions of the City Hall, the disturbances reappear," said the councilman.
Residents suggest concrete paving
The proposal to evaluate concrete paving arose from suggestions presented by residents of the region, who seek a solution to the recurring problems on the road.
Faced with the demands received, Fábio Silva informed that he forwarded to the responsible bodies a request for the realization of a technical study that analyzes the feasibility of the use of concrete in the paving of the stretch.
The intention, according to the parliamentarian, is to verify if this type of pavement can represent a more lasting alternative to access to the Tunnel of the San Martin, reducing the need for frequent interventions.
"Based on suggestions from residents, I requested a technical study to evaluate the possibility of concrete paving on site, seeking a more durable and safer solution for all," he said.
Order depends on technical evaluation
The request submitted by the councilor initially provides for the conduct of a study to verify the feasibility of concrete paving. Thus, the request does not represent confirmation that the work will be executed.
The eventual implementation of a new floor will depend on the analysis of the responsible bodies and the necessary referrals for the realization of the service.
Fábio Silva stressed that he will continue to follow the demands related to the infrastructure of the neighborhoods of Ponta Grossa.
“We’re working from the neighborhood to the center. The task is uninterrupted,” concluded the parliamentarian.
