Rosa October Action Brings Together Women from Família Acolhedora in Ponta Grossa

The Social Assistance Foundation of Ponta Grossa (FASPG) carried out a special activity aimed at women who are part of the Family Welcoming Service. The initiative was part of the actions of Outubro Rosa and sought to raise awareness about the prevention and early diagnosis of breast cancer.

The meeting took place at the Monteiro Lobato Park and also provided guidance related to self-care and the importance of monitoring women's health.

According to the president of FASPG, Tatyana Belo, the activity also represents a way of recognizing and caring for women who are dedicated to the care of children and adolescents.

“Welcoming families dedicate time, care and attention to caring for children and adolescents at a very delicate time. It is therefore essential that these women also feel supported and remember that their own health deserves priority. The Outubro Rosa is an opportunity to reinforce that prevention saves lives,” he said.

Strengthening the bonds

In addition to the guidelines related to the Outubro Rosa campaign, the meeting provided a moment of integration between the participants of the Host Family.

The proposal was to strengthen the bonds between the families that are part of the service and to expand the space for the exchange of experiences between the women responsible for the reception.

The Host Family acts in the care of children and adolescents who need to be temporarily removed from their families of origin. During this period, they remain under the care of families previously registered and accompanied by the social assistance network of the municipality.

The action promoted by FASPG reinforced, according to the institution, the need to also offer attention and support to the people who take on the mission of welcoming and caring for these young people.
