Sicredi continues to expand its presence in the Campos Gerais within a national model based on proximity to associates and direct relationship with communities. Even in a scenario in which more than 95% of transactions are already carried out by mobile, the institution maintains the strategy of investing in physical agencies and local presence.

The vision was detailed during the Sicredi National Meeting of Journalists and Opinion Formers, which brings together communication professionals from 17 Brazilian states. Portal BnT participates in the meeting representing Ponta Grossa and the Campos Gerais region and spoke with regional and national leaders of the institution.

Among them is the president of Sicredi Campos Gerais, Grande Curitiba, Vale do Ribeira and Força dos Ventos PR/SP, Márcio Zwierewicz, who highlighted to the BnT the importance of maintaining the growth of the cooperative linked to the reality of each region.

According to Zwierewicz, the closeness to the members and the communities is one of the points that sustain the expansion of Sicredi and allow the institution to better understand the demands of each municipality.

The director-president of Banco Cooperative Sicredi, César Gioda Bochi, explained that the maintenance and opening of new agencies are part of a strategy that goes beyond the realization of financial transactions.

Agency goes beyond transactions

Bochi pointed out that if the analysis were made only by the number of operations carried out in person, an agency could be seen only as cost.

In Sicredi, however, the logic is different.

“We understand that the credit union and the agency in that municipality are a construction of a long-term relationship,” he said.

For the manager, technology should just free up time for the teams so that the service becomes more consultative and close.

“Technology has to help free up people’s time. What is needed is personal relationship. A consultative work can be digital, but it has to be personal,” he explained.

National model keeps local focus

The strategy presented by the national management is directly connected to the work carried out on the Campos Gerais.

According to Bochi, Sicredi seeks to combine the strength of a national structure with the ability to understand the economic reality of each municipality.

“This model of being cooperative and being a system makes it possible to scale and have a local focus,” he said.

In practice, this action involves relationships with associates, companies, entrepreneurs, rural producers, entities and different sectors of the communities.

It is precisely this logic that also guides the activity of the cooperative presided over by Márcio Zwierewicz in the Campos Gerais.

The physical presence, according to the Sicredi model, serves not only for banking, but also to deepen relations, participate in desenvolvimento local and support economic and social initiatives.

Expansion begins before the agency opens

César Bochi also explained that Sicredi’s arrival in a new municipality usually begins before the inauguration of an agency.

The institution carries out a process of approximation with the community, entities, entrepreneurs, producers and potential associates.

“Often, when you open a new agency in a new municipality, it’s not opening the agency and then going after associates,” he said.

According to him, this previous work causes some units to start activities already with 500 or 600 associates.

For Sicredi, expansion needs to be based on both economic viability and the ability to build a long-term relationship with the community.

Campos Gerais within the growth strategy

The Campos Gerais region appears within this national policy of expansion with proximity.

The Sicredi Campos Gerais, Grande Curitiba, Vale do Ribeira and Força dos Ventos PR/SP serve municipalities with different economic and population profiles, which requires an action adapted to the local reality.

Under the presidency of Márcio Zwierewicz, the cooperative maintains a strategy of strengthening the regional presence and expanding the relationship with associates.

The evaluation presented during the meeting is that the advancement of technology does not reduce the importance of physical presence. On the contrary, it allows agencies to increasingly assume a role of relationship, guidance and support to local economic activities.
