State authorizes partnership for prisoner work at Santa Casa de Ponta Grossa
Cooperation agreement provides labor occupation for people deprived of liberty from the State Penitentiary of Ponta Grossa

The Government of Paraná has authorized the conclusion of a term of cooperation between the State and the Santa Casa of Mercy of Ponta Grossa to enable the occupation of persons deprived of their liberty who serve a sentence in regime fechado. The measure is contained in an order of the Secretariat of State for Public Security published in the Official Gazette of Paraná.
According to the document, the agreement will be executed with the participation of the Criminal Police Department (Deppen), the Prison Fund of Paraná and the Penitenciária Estadual de Ponta Grossa – Progressive Unit (PEPG-UP). The officially informed objective is to provide work activity to persons deprived of liberty served by the prison unit.
Partnership still needs to be formalized
The publication represents an authorization for the celebration of the Term of Technical Cooperation no 359/2026, and does not mean, by itself, that the activities have already begun.
