State authorizes partnership for prisoner work in Castro, with participation of the Penal Police and an agropecuarian company
The Castro Public Chain, in the Campos Gerais, may develop work activities for people deprived of liberty through a partnership with a private company. The authorization was published by the Government of Paraná in the edition of Wednesday (4) of the Official State Gazette.
The measure is contained in Order No. 1.502/2026, of the Secretariat of State for Public Security, which authorizes the conclusion of a term of cooperation with the company ITC do Brasil Indústria, Comércio e Importação de Produtos Agropecuários Ltda.
The project will be developed with the participation of the Criminal Police Department of Paraná (Deppen), the Penitentiary Fund of Paraná (Fupen) and the Public Chain of Castro.
Work as an instrument of social reintegration
According to the document, the partnership aims to establish conditions to provide employment to people deprived of liberty who are serving sentence in regime fechado.
The proposal considers work as one of the tools used in the process of readaptation to the social environment.
The participation of companies in projects of this nature may allow the development of productive activities in the prison environment, observing the legal requirements and the conditions established in the cooperation instruments.
In the case of Castro, the specific activities have not yet been detailed in the publication.
Authorization depends on the next procedures
The dispatch was signed by the state secretary of Public Security, Hudson Leôncio Teixeira, and is bound to protocol No. 26.674.161-8.
The act authorizes the conclusion of the partnership and determines the forwarding of the documentation to the sector responsible for the contracts and agreements of the secretariat.
The Official Gazette does not inform how many people will be able to participate in the activities, what will be the remuneration, if there will be a productive structure within the unit or when the project will start to work.
This information should be verified in the cooperation term and in the work plan linked to the administrative procedure.
The initiative places the Castro Public Chain among the establishments contemplated by state authorizations aimed at the offer of employment for people deprived of liberty.
