Stolen pickup truck recovered by PM in rural area of Palmeira after being found abandoned by the side of BR-277
The Military Police recovered a stolen truck in Palmeira during the afternoon of Tuesday (22), in the rural area of the municipality. The vehicle, a Ford F-250 Tropical, was found abandoned in the vicinity of Rio Guaraúna, on the banks of BR-277, after information was passed on to police.
The incident was handled by the RPA team from Witmarsum, which received the complaint about a vehicle left in a region near the river. During the on-site check, the police confirmed that it was a truck with a record of theft carried out on September 20.
According to the Military Police, the van was without the identification plates and showed signs of alteration in the ignition system, indicating a possible direct connection to the operation of the vehicle. The absence of a multimedia equipment that was part of the truck was also noted.
After the confirmation of the situation, the police team carried out the necessary procedures on site and contacted the Civil Police to continue the occurrence.
The stolen van was sent to the 40th Regional Police Station of Palmeira, where it was available to the authorities responsible for the appropriate measures.
