Students from Ponta Grossa create solutions for community challenges
Creative Learning Laboratories in Ponta Grossa encourage students to create solutions for real challenges faced by communities

The Creative Learning Laboratories at Ponta Grossa are bringing students from the Municipal Teaching Network closer to the challenges encountered in the communities themselves. From real problems, students and teachers develop projects with proposals for creative, accessible and sustainable solutions, which are being presented during the XIII Education Congress of the municipality.
The activities are carried out by pilot schools of the municipal network within the Creative Learning Laboratories (LACs). The work uses the Active Methodology of Frugal Innovation and Co-creation, an initiative developed by the Innovation and Development Agency of Ponta Grossa.
The proposal is to encourage teachers and students to observe everyday situations, identify problems and, from them, develop possibilities of solution using creativity, collaboration and accessible resources.
Schools approaching the innovation ecosystem
In addition to the work developed within the schools, the projects also seek to bring students closer to the innovation ecosystem of Ponta Grossa.
During the process, teachers receive mentoring and support from members of the Valley of the Rails. Participants share knowledge and experiences acquired in the innovation environment, contributing to the development of the proposals presented by students.
The initiative seeks to connect the contents worked in the classroom with concrete situations experienced by the community. In this way, students take on a more active role in the learning process and are stimulated to observe the environment where they live.
Creativity, collaboration and student prominence are among the skills worked throughout the projects.
Projects are presented at the Education Congress
The work of the Creative Learning Laboratories in Ponta Grossa is part of the programming of the XIII Education Congress, promoted by Prefeitura de Ponta Grossa, through the Municipal Secretariat of Education.
During the exhibition, students present to the public the problems identified in their communities, the alternatives developed and the knowledge acquired during each stage of the projects.
The president of the Innovation and Development Agency of Ponta Grossa, Tônia Mansani, highlights that the approach between schools and the innovation ecosystem broadens the experiences of students and contributes to strengthening a culture of innovation even during school education.
“When we bring students closer to real problems and put the innovation ecosystem to contribute to this process, we create a very rich learning environment. They begin to observe reality, identify challenges and think about possibilities of solution, developing creativity, collaboration and protagonism,” he says.
The experience also extends the connection between education and innovation in Ponta Grossa, allowing children and adolescents to have contact with methodologies aimed at solving problems since educação básica.
