Teachers from Carambeí participate in training for the Descubra Campos Gerais project

Teachers of the elementary school of the municipal network of Carambeí participated in a training of the project Discover Campos Gerais, aimed at the valorization of tourism, culture, regional history and the sense of belonging among students.

The training brought together teachers of the 4th year of elementary school and presented ways to use tourism and cultural elements of Campos Gerais as pedagogical tools within the classroom.

The proposal is to ensure that educators bring students knowledge about Carambeí and the other municipalities of the region, awakening from childhood the appreciation of the territory where they live.

Belonging begins at school

The pedagogical coordinator of the Municipal Secretariat of Education and Culture of Carambeí, Priscila Pauliki Solek, highlights that the project brings students closer to the history, traditions and attractions of the municipality itself.

“This project awakens in children the feeling of belonging to the municipality of Carambeí and the region of Campos Gerais. Our teachers of History and Geography of the fourth years participated in this training so that this knowledge also reaches our students”, says Priscila.

Through the Guia Conheça Campos Gerais, students will have access to information about natural, historical, gastronomic, cultural and religious attractions of Carambeí, as well as to know other destinations in the region.

“Our students from Carambia, through the Get to know Campos Gerais project, will be able to know many tourist attractions from here of Carambeí, whether natural, gastronomic or religious, in addition to traveling through the images and the researches of the guide throughout the region of Campos Gerais,” he explains.

Priscila also points out that the initiative seeks to strengthen the identidade regional among the new generations.

“As the late João Lopes sang, ‘I’m not an Ipanema cat, I’m a Paraná animal.’ We want to awaken in our children this feeling and certainty of belonging to Carambeí, Campos Gerais and Paraná.”

Tourism taken to a new generation

The director of content Marcos Silva points out that working on tourism within schools goes beyond presenting sights. The proposal is to create a closer relationship between children, the territory where they live and identidade regional.

“When we take tourism inside the school, we are introducing the Campos Gerais to a new generation. We want these children to know our history, our culture, our natural beauty and everything that makes the region special. The goal is to form a new generation of tourism ambassadors, children who know their own land, value the place where they live and take this knowledge also within their families,” says Marcos Silva.

According to him, the role of teachers is fundamental for this content to be transformed into regional learning and valuation.

“The teacher is the one who makes this connection with the student. When the child knows Carambeí and Campos Gerais, he starts to look at the region in a different way. She understands that this story also belongs to her and that preserving and valuing our culture and our tourism is helping to build the future of the region.”

Pedagogical training

The pedagogue Camila Filipowski Peracetta also participates in the trainings, contributing to the pedagogical approach and the approximation between the tourist content and the practice of the teachers in the classroom.

The training presented possibilities of using pedagogical tourism to address themes of History, Geography, culture, identity and belonging.

The objective is to show educators that tourism can go beyond leisure and also be used as a learning tool, bringing students closer to the history, memory and heritage of Campos Gerais.

Know Campos Gerais works to promote and enhance the tourist attractions of the region, presenting destinations, experiences, culture, gastronomy and heritage of the municipalities.

The proposals of Know Campos Gerais and Discover Campos Gerais complement each other by bringing residents and students closer to the existing wealth in the region itself.

With the training of Carambeí teachers, the expectation is that this knowledge will reach the classrooms and multiply among students and their families, forming children who know, value and are proud to be part of Campos Gerais.
