Traffic fines could damage drivers' names in Ponta Grossa
Municipality expanded contract with ACIPG to allow inclusion of traffic debt records in SPC Brasil; addendum provides for 9,000 additional records

Debits of traffic fines in Ponta Grossa may lead to the denial of the name of those responsible in SPC Brazil. The City Hall has published a contractual addendum that expands the services of inclusion of debts in the credit protection system, also contemplating amounts due for traffic violations.
The measure is contained in the first addendum to the contract no. 558/2025, signed between the Municipality and the Commercial, Industrial and Business Association of Ponta Grossa (ACIPG). The extract was published in the edition of the Official Gazette on Wednesday (7).
Contract provides for 9,000 additional records
To extend the service, the Municipality added R$ 31.050 to the contract, an increase of 25% compared to the original value. According to the publication, this addition corresponds to 9,000 additional records in the system.
The document reports that the expansion seeks to make possible “also the denial of debts arising from traffic fines”. With this, this type of debt becomes part of the scope of the service contracted by the City Hall.
The 9,000 records provided represent the additional capacity contracted. The publication does not inform that 9,000 drivers have already been denied, nor does it present a relationship of people who will have the debts referred to the SPC.
When does the negative start?
The statement does not detail the date of commencement of debt referral, the criteria for selecting debts or the procedure for reporting to those responsible. It also does not clarify what fines may be included, how long the amounts should be due or how the regularization of the records will be made after payment.
Therefore, the publication allows to state that the City Council has extended the contract to enable the denial of these debts, but does not confirm that the inclusion in the SPC will occur automatically after a fine is no longer paid.
What changes for drivers
The novelty is the possibility of traffic fines being debited to the credit protection system, according to the contractual extension published by the Municipality.

For those responsible for pending fines, the details on deadlines, communication and referral conditions still depend on clarifications from the City Hall. The published act specifically deals with the extension of the service contracted with ACIPG.
