TRE-PR approves registration of Marcelo Rangel's candidacy for federal deputy

The Regional Electoral Court of Paraná (TRE-PR) has granted the registration of Marcelo Rangel Cruz de Oliveira (PSD) to the position of federal deputy in the 2026 elections. The decision was signed on Saturday (5) by Judge Everton Jonir Fagundes Menengola and recognizes that the candidate meets the eligibility conditions required by electoral legislation.

The application registration process is filed under the number 0600933-60.2026.6.16.0000 and was submitted by the State Directory of Partido Social Democrático (PSD). In the decision, the magistrate states that no causes of ineligibility or irregularities have been identified capable of preventing Marcelo Rangel from contesting this year’s elections.

Justice points to absence of ineligibility

According to the reasoning of the decision, the application for registration was submitted with the documentation required by Resolution No. 23.609/2019, of the Superior Electoral Court (TSE). The TRE-PR also registered that Marcelo Rangel met the eligibility conditions provided for in the Constituição Federal and in the electoral legislation.

“It is also noted that the eligibility conditions provided for in Constituição Federal and in electoral legislation, as well as the absence of causes of ineligibility”, states the excerpt of the decision. The rapporteur added that no irregularities of the office were found that could prevent the application from being granted.

Registration has not been challenged

Another point highlighted in the process is that there was no appeal against the registration of the application. After the publication of the notice provided for in the electoral legislation, the legal period elapsed without any objections or news of any cause of ineligibility.

The Judicial Secretariat of TRE-PR also informed that the legal determinations related to the process have been fulfilled. In addition, the Electoral Regional Prosecutor’s Office, which acts as the prosecutor of the law in electoral processes, presented a demonstration in favour of registering the candidacy.

Party is Regular

The decision also mentions the regularity of party acts related to the PSD, a legend by which Marcelo Rangel intends to contest a seat in the Chamber of Deputies. According to the rapporteur, the regularity of the party's acts was demonstrated in a decision made in the corresponding proceedings.

In compliance with the legal requirements, the judge determined the referral of the registration. “Because all the legal conditions for the referral of the Application Registration Requirement – RRC are fulfilled, the acceptance of the application is required,” the decision records.

Application is officially granted by TRE-PR

In the final part of the decision, the TRE-PR expressly determined the referral of the application. “In view of the above, the application for registration of Marcelo Rangel Cruz de Oliveira’s candidacy is DEFERRED, to run in the 2026 elections,” the rapporteur decided. With the decision, Marcelo Rangel is with the registration of application granted by Justiça Eleitoral to contest a seat of federal deputy for Paraná.

The decision was signed electronically at 14:17 on Saturday, September 5, by Judge Everton Jonir Fagundes Menengola. The registration of the candidacy is one of the mandatory steps for candidates to officially run in the elections. During the analysis, Justiça Eleitoral verifies that the eligibility conditions, the documentation presented and the possible existence of causes provided for by law that may prevent the application.
