Collision on BR-376 in Ponta Grossa left a 40-year-old driver injured after a truck hit the back of a car on Wednesday (7).
A collision on BR-376 in Ponta Grossa left a 40-year-old driver injured late Wednesday. The accident involved a Volkswagen car and a truck on the stretch of highway near the Volvo region, in the direction of Curitiba–Ponta Grossa.
According to information raised at the scene, the traffic was slow and worked at a “stop and go” pace when the crash occurred.
The car was on the highway and would have abruptly slowed down after a truck that was ahead of the line stopped. Another truck, which was just behind the Volkswagen, could not stop in time and hit the rear of the vehicle.
Driver suffered pain in the cervical region
With the impact of the collision, the driver of the car, 40 years old, presented a bruise and pain in the cervical region.
She was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Rescue teams were deployed to respond to the incident. The victim received the first care still on site and was initially evaluated by a medical team of the dealership responsible for the stretch.
Subsequently, the woman was transferred to an ambulance from Siate and referred to UPA Santa Paula, in Ponta Grossa, for medical evaluation.
At the time of the investigation, there was no information of injuries considered serious.
The occupants of the truck were not injured.
In the truck were the driver, 26 years old, and an assistant, 29 years old. Neither of them suffered injuries in the collision.
According to information obtained on the spot, the occupants worked for a transport company and had accessed BR-376 through the Santa Maria viaduct region.
After the accident, the car had to be removed with the help of a winch.
The truck and the driver remained at the scene awaiting the arrival of the Federal Highway Police (PRF), responsible for the attendance and registration of the occurrence on the highway.
The accident caused reflexes in the traffic of the stretch during the work of the teams of service and withdrawal of vehicles.
The circumstances of the collision shall be stated in the bulletin drawn up by PRF.
