Truck leaves the road, hits a tree and leaves one dead in Ivaí
Accident happened in the afternoon of this Thursday (4), on PRC-487; driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
A fatal accident in Ivaí, municipality of Campos Gerais, left a 59-year-old man dead on Wednesday afternoon. The victim was driving a Chevrolet Montana truck on the PRC-487 when it came off the track and hit a tree. With the force of the impact, the driver was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
According to information from the State Road Police (PRE), the accident occurred around 15:37, at kilometer 446, plus 200 meters, of the PRC-487, in the stretch between Ivaí and the junction with the PR-522.
The vehicle was heading in the direction of Ivaí at the junction with PR-522 when, due to circumstances that have not yet been clarified, it left the highway and hit a tree on the edge of the track.
Driver died at the scene of the accident
According to the survey carried out by the police teams, the driver was ejected from the truck during the accident. The 59-year-old man could not resist the injuries and died at the scene.
The State Road Police received the communication of the occurrence at 4:50 pm and recorded the arrival of their team at the site at 7:00 pm. At the time of the bulletin, the attendance procedures were still in progress.
In addition to the State Road Police, teams of the Criminalistics and the Medical-Legal Institute (IML), responsible for the expert procedures and for the collection of the body, were activated.
After the work on site, the victim was referred to the IML of Ponta Grossa, where the legal procedures would be carried out.
The circumstances of the accident will be determined.
The fatal accident in Ivaí was recorded as a runway exit followed by a collision with a fixed object, in this case a tree.
The police bulletin does not inform what caused the loss of the vehicle's trajectory. It is not yet possible to determine whether factors related to road conditions, the vehicle or driving contributed to the accident.
The identity of the victim was not disclosed in the initial information provided by the authorities.
The incident was attended by the State Road Police, through the Road Police Battalion (BPRv), linked to the Paraná Military Police.
The case should be clarified from the surveys carried out on site and other appropriate procedures.
