Woman demands R$ 300 thousand from ex to not disclose alleged gay relationship and ends up convicted in PR
Justice upheld four years and nine months prison sentence for extortion in Pato Branco case

A woman has been sentenced to four years and nine months in prison for extorting her ex-boyfriend in a White Duck case in the southwest of Paraná. According to the decision, she demanded R $ 300,000 to not disclose images that simulated a supposed homoaffective relationship of the victim.
The conviction, pronounced by the White Duck Criminal Court, was upheld by the 5th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Justice of Paraná (TJPR). The decision established the semi-open regime for the beginning of the execution of the sentence, in addition to the payment of the procedural costs.
The blackmail began during the trip.
The couple had a relationship marked by separations and reconciliations. The woman even requested protective measures against the man, but subsequently invited him for a trip to Santa Catarina. During the stay, she began to make insinuations about the sexual orientation of the partner. The man reported that he tried to leave the hotel, was stopped and then accused of assault.
The woman demanded R$ 300,000 to not report him to the police for the alleged assault. In the face of pressure, he made a transfer of R $ 75,000.
Images were released in groups
In another episode, the woman began to use assemblies that showed the ex-boyfriend next to another man, presenting them as evidence of an alleged affective relationship. The requirement was again R$ 300,000, this time to prevent the dissemination of the content.
As the victim did not make the payment, the images were shared in WhatsApp groups. The man reported repercussions in his personal life and fear of professional losses. After the episodes, he sought justice.
The court upheld the conviction
The court considered the victim’s testimony in conjunction with testimonies, messages, videos, notary records and other documents to maintain the conviction. The trial also highlighted that the characterization of extortion does not depend on the receipt of the money required. Thus, the absence of payment in the second collection did not deter the crime recognized by the Justice.
