Woman Suffers Leg Fracture After Being Run Over by Truck in Vila Congonhas

A woman of approximately 40 years was injured after being hit by a truck in Vila Congonhas, in Ponta Grossa, on Tuesday (13). The accident occurred at the intersection of Rua Basílio da Gama and Avenida Copel.

According to information obtained on the spot, the truck was performing a backwards maneuver at the time of the accident. The vehicle would be with the light signal activated and also had a rear sound warning.

According to preliminary information, the woman was crossing the road and would not have noticed that the truck was retreating. During the maneuver, she ended up being hit by the vehicle.

Leg was under the wheel

With the impact, the victim fell and one of the legs ended up under the wheel of the truck. She suffered a severe leg injury, with exposed fracture and bleeding.

Emergency teams were called in to provide care. The woman was conscious and breathing during the rescue.

Samu performed the first procedures still on site, including stabilizing the victim and controlling bleeding.

The victim was taken to the regional hospital.

After the initial care, the woman was referred to Hospital Universitário Regional dos Campos Gerais, in Ponta Grossa, for evaluation and specialized medical care.

So far, there is no updated information on the health status of the victim after entering the hospital.
