Actor from MS goes viral for singing Caminho das Índias soundtrack

The South-Mato Grosso actor Yuri Tavares went viral with a video in which he appears singing songs from the soap opera "Way of the Indias" during a trip through the interior of the state. Published without great pretensions, the video already totals nearly 3 million views and caught the attention of Rodrigo Lombardi and Juliana Paes, who starred in the soap opera shown in 2009.

To G1, Yuri said that he was traveling inland with his friend and also actor Luciano Risalde when he decided to show, in a humorous way, that he knew how to sing the songs of the soundtrack of the soap opera. Watch the video above.

Jokes with friends on the road

The idea came from inside the car. The two friends are actors and make theatrical performances in the interior of the state. During travel, they usually take turns in the direction.

During one of these trips, Yuri put a selection of Indian songs to play. The friend missed the choice and played with the situation. “I can’t believe you keep listening to these songs from ‘Road to the Indies,’” Luciano said.

Luciano took his cell phone and started recording. Yuri sang excerpts from several songs from the soundtrack, one after the other. Then, he put the videos together into a single compiled one.

Unpretentious publication and surprising repercussion

Without script or elaborate production, the material was published only to make friends and followers laugh. The result surprised the actor.

The video was posted on a Thursday, around 9 p.m. The next day, during a trip to São Paulo, Yuri realized that the content had already reached about 100,000 views.

In addition to the views, the content caught the attention of the actors of the soap opera. Rodrigo Lombardi, who played Raj, and Juliana Paes, who lived Maya, commented on the publication.

For the actor, the success of the video has a simple explanation: he has actually listened to the songs of the soap opera for years.

The relationship with the soundtrack began in childhood. Since 2009, when "Way of the Indies" was shown, Yuri has maintained the habit of listening to the songs. At the time, he even had the DVD of the soap opera and accompanied the clips.
