The name of the former federal deputy Aline Sleutjes (PL) began to circulate among representatives of the Paraná agribusiness as one of the possibilities for the command of the State Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply in the future government of Sérgio Moro. Aline confirmed that rural unions, cooperatives, rural societies, agribusinesses and other entities linked to the sector have been mobilizing in support of the nomination.

According to Aline, representatives of the agribusiness came to draw up a letter of recommendation highlighting its political and technical trajectory related to the sector.

“This issue of entities being asking for my name to be Secretary of State for Agriculture is very honorable. I am very grateful for the memory, for the support and especially for knowing that all these entities feel in my name security so that we can carry out a work of serious public policies for the Paraná agriculture,” she said.

The former parliamentarian points out, however, that she did not receive an official invitation from Sérgio Moro to join the government.

Letter highlights Aline's performance in the field

According to Aline, the document prepared by the entities gathers points of his trajectory during the period in which he served in the Chamber of Deputies.

Among the arguments presented are the passage by the presidency of the Agriculture Commission, its work in the articulation of projects related to the sector and the participation in international missions to open markets to Brazilian products.

“They made a letter of recommendation. They placed my curriculum as president of the Agriculture Commission, my knowledge as vice-leader of the government, articulating the guidelines of the agribusiness, in addition to acting as author and rapporteur of important guidelines,” she explained.

Aline also cited the trips made alongside the then Minister of Agriculture, Tereza Cristina, with a focus on expanding markets for Brazilian products.

Aline says she did not negotiate a government position

Despite the movement, Aline makes a point of affirming that her participation in the electoral campaign was never conditioned to a vacancy in the future state government.

According to her, there was no prior negotiation to assume any position if she could not return to the Chamber of Deputies.

“At no time when I was asked to leave as a federal candidate again, did I make any negotiation in the sense that if I were not elected, the governor would have to put me in government. I do not agree with this kind of conduct,” he said.

For the former deputy, the formation of the team must be a decision of the elected governor, taking into account technical and political criteria.

“Governor Moro has the independence to assemble a team of people in whom he believes and trusts, based on merit, meritocracy and especially the technical issue,” he said.

Filipe Barros supports name, according to Aline

Aline also revealed that she spoke this week with elected senator Filipe Barros (PL) about the articulations for the future government.

According to her, Barros stated that his name is among the listed and expressed support for a possible nomination for the Secretariat of Agriculture.

“In the meeting I had with the Filipe Barros on Tuesday, he told me that my name is very quoted and that he has his support. I believe that he also has Deltan’s support in this regard,” he said.

Aline stressed, however, that she has not yet spoken directly to Sérgio Moro about the possibility.

“With Governor Moro, I didn’t talk about it. I think he needs to have peace of mind to evaluate the names that are coming to him,” he said.

If the invitation is made, it signals that it is willing to accept.

“If he calls me and invites me to take on this great responsibility, we will certainly do a job that will go down in history,” he said.

The election was below expectations.

Commenting on the results of the polls, Aline also acknowledged that her candidacy for the Chamber of Deputies fell short of the projections made by the campaign.

The goal, she said, was to reach at least 80,000 votes, with a strategy involving approximately 180 Paraná municipalities.

In Ponta Grossa, for example, the expectation was to receive at least 20,000 votes, but the candidate ended with about 5,500.

Aline says she has 978 votes from a better position on the surrogacy list, a result that could expand her chances of returning to the House.

Despite the electoral frustration, she considers that the mobilization around her name for the Secretariat of Agriculture demonstrates that her political performance remains recognized in the Paraná.

“The good thing is that my name is still alive. Even after four years of my mandate, in all the regions where I worked, the results and the legacy left are still very much alive.”
