Book by BnT about Ponta Grossa gathers over 30 co-authors; see photos of the launch

More than 30 co-authors helped to tell the story of Ponta Grossa in the book “Ponta Grossa: from the Trophic Route to the Tracks of Innovation”, launched last night, Monday (28), at an event held by Portal BnT Online, in Sicredi. The solemnity brought together businessmen, authorities, educators, journalists and representatives of institutions that participated in the publication.

The evening marked the meeting of those who contributed to register different aspects of the 203 years of the municipality. In interviews with BnT, guests spoke about their participation in the work, the relationship of their institutions with Ponta Grossa and the importance of preserving these stories for future generations.

The photographic records highlight the interviewees, the co-authors and the moments of fraternization, in addition to the signatures on a copy that will be preserved in the collection of the portal. At the end of the article, you can see the photos of the launch.

A story built by several hands

The publication connects the trophic origins and the presence of the railway to the economic, social and cultural transformations of Ponta Grossa. The chapters gather contributions on education, infrastructure, security, trade, industry, cooperativeism, sport and other sectors related to the development of the municipality.

Among the co-authors presented at the ceremony are Álvaro Góes, Ana Cláudia Gambassi, Guilherme Rangel, Luiz Henrique Honesko, Liliam Brandalise, Rafael Rickli, Paulo Pinto, Sabrina Ávila Rodrigues, Tônia Mansani and Silvestre Labiak, as well as representatives of different entities and institutions.

The prefeita Elizabeth Schmidt highlighted that the book will allow the next generations to know both the formation of the city and the moment lived today. “Fifty years from now, people will be reading what we’re doing today,” he said.

Elizabeth also said that she followed the construction of the proposal and the title of the publication. According to her, the intention was to bring together the social, economic and cultural development of the municipality, with space to discuss its future. During the speech, the mayor defined the work as “an act of memory, an act of gratitude” and thanked the people and institutions who shared their stories.

Co-authors highlight memory and identity

The journalist Ana Cláudia Gambassi, linked to Câmara Municipal de Ponta Grossa, wrote about the history of the Legislative. In the interview, he explained that he built his article from the idea that the Chamber functions as a mirror of the community, reflecting its changes and diversity of thoughts. “We need to respect and know our past to build our future,” he said.

Ana also spoke about the satisfaction of participating in a collective publication. For the journalist, leaving a written contribution about the city represents an opportunity to register her work and collaborate with the preservation of local memory. The municipal Secretary of Infrastructure, Luiz Henrique Honesko, contributed a chapter on the area. During the launch, he commented that he took to the pages of the book experiences related to the implementation of urban infrastructure and the changes in the lives of residents.

“It’s a great honor to see my name there and my words there,” he said. Honesko added that the excitement of work is also in contact with families who have waited for improvements in their streets. The Secretary of Public Security and Citizenship, Guilherme Rangel, addressed the evolution of the security structure of the municipality. In the interview, he cited equipment, vehicles, the work with dogs and the use of technology, relating safety to the quality of life and the development of the city.

The worker also integrates the history

The president of the Operário Ferroviário Management Group, Álvaro Góes, participated in the launch and highlighted the link between the club, the railway and the identity of Ponta Grossa. Co-author of the publication, he stressed that football also helps to take the name of the municipality to other regions. Commenting on the presence of this trajectory in the book, Álvaro defended the importance of keeping history accessible to new generations.

“You can’t let history be erased. It has to stay in the memory of every big-ticket,” he said. The entrepreneur also linked the strengthening of the Worker to the movement of hotels, restaurants, bars and other businesses in the city.

Cooperatives and companies present

Representing Sicredi, Reinaldo Fernandes de Oliveira, director of business of the cooperative, highlighted the institution’s connection with the growth of Ponta Grossa. He attended the solemnity on behalf of President Márcio Zwierewicz, one of the co-authors of the book. "I wish that this record we are making here today, at the launch of this book, will remain as a part of the history of Ponta Grossa for generations to come," he said.

Reinaldo also highlighted the pride of the institution in participating in the publication and receiving the meeting. Among the interviewees was Frederico Galvão, superintendent of Shopping Plaza Campos Gerais. He stated that participation in the project brings the enterprise closer to the history and culture of the city.

Education and tourism in the works

The relationship between professional qualifications and development was discussed by João Guilherme Baggio de Oliveira, Senac representative at Ponta Grossa. He highlighted education as an opportunity to expand the capacity to create, innovate and enter the labor market.

“Our mission is precisely that: to promote quality education,” he said. Daniel Wagner, Executive Director of Planalto Select Hotel, highlighted the book’s potential as a tool for the appreciation and promotion of tourism in Ponta Grossa. For him, the publication brings together elements that help residents and visitors to know the local identity.

“This book is a true document of our identity as Ponta Grossa,” he said. Daniel also related the history of the hotel to the trajectory of the municipality and highlighted the responsibility of the accommodation sector in the experience of those who visit the city.

Autographs and photos for history

One of the central moments of the ceremony was the signing of a copy destined for the BnT Online collection. The prefeita Elizabeth Schmidt opened the autograph sequence, followed by professionals involved in editorial production and the co-authors called forward.

Participants were also invited to a collective photo alongside the mayor. Afterwards, representatives of the supporting companies were invited to register their participation in the project. The program was presented by the Rainbow Vocal of Colégio Sagrada Família, who performed the National Anthem and the March on Ponta Grossa. Sicredi, Vale dos Trilhos, Copel and Sebrae were honored as special partners of the publication.

The launch also celebrated the five years of the Portal BnT Online – Boca no Trombone. The journalist Marcos Silva highlighted that the work represents part of the work developed by the vehicle in the valorization of the community and the stories of Campos Gerais. “This event, this book marks the five years of the Boca no Trombone Portal,” he said.
