Businessmen demand installation of new bus terminal in PG Industrial District
Representative of the sector states that workers take up to 1 hour and 50 minutes for commuting and advocates for public transport structure in the Industrial District

The construction of a bus terminal in the Industrial District of Ponta Grossa was defended by the coordinator of the Núcleo das Indústrias (NDI), Marcos Russi, during participation in the Free Tribune of Câmara Municipal, on Wednesday (14). According to him, the delay in collective transport makes it difficult to hire workers and compromises the access of employees to courses and activities of qualification.
The representative of the sector is Marcos Vinicios Russi Pereira. Known as Marcos Russi, he is founder of the Sulfochemistry Group and coordinator of the NDI for the management 2026–2028. In the House, Russi said that the core brings together about 80 companies. According to the figures presented by him, the Industrial District concentrates about 15,000 employees, with movement that reaches 22,000 people in peak hours, also considering the administrative staff.
Displacement impairs hiring and qualification
According to the coordinator, there are workers who take between one hour and forty minutes and one hour and fifty minutes on the trip. The situation, he said, reduces interest in employment opportunities in the industrial region. Russi also highlighted the impact on those who want to study after school. In addition to the time inside the buses, employees need to walk hundreds of meters between the companies and the boarding points.
“How are we going to prepare our employees if we don’t have adequate transportation?” he asked. Another problem reported was the incompatibility between the schedules of the lines and the beginning of the shifts. According to the representative, certain employees need to choose between arriving well in advance or disembarking after check-in time.
Terminal depends on terrain and resources
For the NDI, a terminal in the region could improve the organization of the lines and meet the growth of the Industrial District in the coming decades. Russi stated that there is a favourable informal signage from Viação Campos Gerais (VCG) and the road dealership mentioned during the statement. However, the proposal still depends on definitions on the ground, design, resources and construction.

The coordinator asked for the support of the councilors to advance in these discussions and made the core companies available for meetings with the public power. He also pointed out that improvements in public transport could contribute to reducing the expenses of industries that currently use chartered transport services.
Councillors express support for the discussion
After the presentation, councilors expressed support for the debate on mobility in the Industrial District. Among the problems raised were the distance from the bus stops, the lack of coverage in waiting places and the safety conditions of the routes covered on foot by the workers. Guilherme Mazer assessed that the concentration of passengers in the region can favor lines with greater occupancy and contribute to the financial balance of the system. It also suggested analyzing the availability of municipal areas to receive the structure.
