Dbug Telecom warns: check the charge before paying and don't fall for digital frauds
Dbug Telecom, an internet provider operating in 19 cities in Paraná, reinforces the importance of these precautions and advises its customers to confirm the authenticity of charges and requests received in the company's name.

Receiving messages by WhatsApp, SMS and e-mail is part of the routine of Brazilians. However, these channels can also be used by criminals to apply scams, improperly using the name and visual identity of known companies to win the trust of victims.
According to data from the Brazilian Public Security Forum, between 2024 and 2025, more than 24 million people were victims of financial scams involving PIX or fake tickets. This resulted in a loss of about 29 million reais. According to the survey, fraud affects all ages. Among the elderly, the majority have been the victim of scams involving fake tickets, while young people are more affected by fraud involving online shopping.
Among the strategies used are the sending of false charges, tampered with tickets, links to fraudulent pages and messages requesting the update of personal data. In some cases, scammers create a sense of urgency, claiming that a certain service will be suspended if payment is not made immediately.
Customers from different segments, including telecommunications services, need to be on the lookout for these fraud attempts. One of the main precautions is to verify the authenticity of the message before making payments or sharing information. Even when the contact presents the name, logo or other elements of a known company, this does not guarantee that the communication is legitimate.
How to identify a possible coup attempt?
Written error messages, unknown links, unexpected data requests and billings accompanied by immediate blocking threats are some of the signs that deserve attention.
Another important care is to check the data of the beneficiary before completing payments by boleto or Pix. If there is any doubt, the consumer should look for the official channels of the company, without using the links or phone numbers sent in the suspicious message.
Dbug Telecom, an internet provider operating in 19 Paraná cities, reinforces the importance of this care and guides its customers to confirm the authenticity of charges and requests received on behalf of the company.
According to Ana Gabriela Freitas, responsible for the legal sector of Dbug, the first recommendation is always to check the origin of the messages, since the scammers can use names, logos and even true information to try to impersonate a company. “The consumer should always be wary of unexpected charges, suspicious links, requests for personal data and messages that create a sense of urgency, such as threats of immediate blocking of the service.”
The expert also points out what the consumer should do if he receives messages or suspicions. “The first guideline is not to click on links, not to download files, and not to make payments before confirming the authenticity of the message. If you identify an attempted fraud, it is also important to keep the evidence, such as the conversation prints, the phone number and the data used by the suspect.
If the consumer has already made a suspicious payment or informed sensitive data, it is important to immediately contact the financial institution or service involved, in addition to adopting measures to protect the accounts that may have been compromised.
Information is also a form of protection
In addition to offering connectivity services, Dbug Telecom seeks to contribute to its customers using the internet in a more conscious and secure way.
The company is also developing educational content with the participation of its employees, addressing topics related to technology, the functioning of the Internet and segurança digital.
The proposal is to bring technical knowledge closer to the daily lives of consumers, clarifying doubts and sharing practical guidelines for situations that can happen in everyday life.
