Hideaki Joboji, 82, dies: reference of Castro's Japanese community

The death of Hideaki Joboji, an 82-year-old economist who built part of his career and family in Castro, was confirmed on Saturday. A native of Mirandópolis (SP), he died at the Hospital Santa Casa of Mercy, in Ponta Grossa, where he was undergoing treatment.

The funeral service takes place in Chapel 01 of the P.A.F. Funeral Center Castro. According to information, a cult of Seicho-No-Ie will be held at 2 pm this Sunday (20). After the ceremony, at 3 pm, the procession will take place to the Cemetery of Frei Mathias, where the burial will be held.

Hideaki Joboji was born on January 3, 1944, the son of Yusaku Joboji and Hana Joboji. In 1971, he arrived in Castro, coming from São Paulo, where he worked as an employee of Centro Administrativo of Cotia (CAC). From that period, he began a long-term relationship with the municipality.

Between 1988 and 1997, he worked at Comercial Sul Paraná S/A, a company in which he held important positions, including the position of director.

Married to Keiko Ueda Joboji, Hideaki had four children: Nancy Akie Joboji, Nádia Terumi Joboji, Alexandre Hideaki Joboji and Otávio Hideaki Joboji (in memoriam). He was also the grandfather of Luiza and Pedro, who maintained a loving relationship with the grandfather, called by the family “ditchan”.

According to Hideaki’s daughter Nádia Joboji, a member of Sebrae, even after her retirement, Hideaki’s father remained active and engaged in different activities. He also participated in the preservation of Japanese culture in Castro, contributing to the Japanese School of Castro and the Cultural and Sports Association of Castro (ACEC).

In addition to his professional and community activities, Hideaki Joboji had a strong spiritual connection with Seicho-No-Ie, where he acted as a lecturer and gave lectures related to the movement.

Hideaki Joboji’s history leaves records in Castro’s community, especially among family, friends and members of the Japanese community, who recognize his social, cultural and professional contribution over decades.
