Mazer highlights health, education and public services in state deputy candidacy

The councilor of Ponta Grossa and candidate for state deputy Guilherme Mazer (PT) participated in the series of interviews of BnT Elections 2026, conducted by Portal BnT Online – Boca no Trombone. During the conversation, the candidate presented his main proposals for the Legislative Assembly of Paraná (Aleppo), addressing topics such as health, education, public services, meio ambiente and regional development.

Mazer said he decided to contest a seat in the Legislative Assembly after receiving expressions of support for the work developed in Câmara Municipal de Ponta Grossa. According to him, the candidacy also seeks to broaden the representation of his political group in the state legislature.

The candidate emphasized that he intends to use the experience gained as a councilor to expand the supervision of the Executive Power and public services, as well as seeking resources and investments for Ponta Grossa and the other municipalities of Campos Gerais.

Health and investments in the Campos Gerais

During the interview, Mazer pointed to public health as one of the main demands of the region. The candidate questioned the need for residents of Ponta Grossa to move to other municipalities in search of consultations, examinations and medical procedures.

According to him, it is necessary to expand the capacity of regional care and strengthen the participation of the municipality in decisions related to health services. Mazer also highlighted projects to extend the hospital structure of Ponta Grossa, such as the construction of a new tower in Hospital Universitário and the deployment of a Polyclinic.

The candidate stated that his political articulation with representatives of the federal government can contribute to the allocation of resources to the city and to the other municipalities of the region.

Education and public services are among the priorities

Another theme addressed by Guilherme Mazer was the need to expand investments in public education. The councilor expressed concern about the working conditions of teachers and criticized the management model adopted by the Government of Paraná in certain areas of education, especially the participation of private initiative in the administration of schools.

Mazer also advocated the enhancement of state universities and the strengthening of investments in research, science and technology. In the evaluation of the candidate, education should occupy a central position in public policies to contribute to the economic and social development of the Paraná.

Public services supervision was also presented as one of the main flags of his candidacy. Mazer cited his work in Sanepar’s Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry (CPI), held at Câmara Municipal de Ponta Grossa, and stated that he intends to expand this work in the state sphere.

Meio ambiente, family farming and culture

Agronomist, Guilherme Mazer also presented proposals related to family agriculture, agroecology and environmental protection. The candidate advocated the adoption of public policies aimed at sustainable food production and the preservation of recursos naturais.

In addressing climate change, Mazer mentioned the recent landslide in Ponta Grossa and highlighted the need for long-term planning to reduce the risks associated with extreme weather events. Culture has also been pointed out as an area that should receive attention from public power. The councilman cited his participation in joints related to federal programs of cultural incentive and the resumption of the street carnival in Ponta Grossa.

Commenting on the importance of electing representatives of the region, Guilherme Mazer advocated that state deputies maintain dialogue with the population and exercise the supervision of the Government of Paraná, regardless of party alignments. The candidate stated that he intends to prioritize the demands of Ponta Grossa and Campos Gerais, especially in the areas of health, education, public services and regional development.
