Then his mother, Francisca Maria de Sousa, came in to give more details of what happened. Melody’s contract had been in place for a year, she said, but the artist’s manager had scheduled another concert on the same day. "Simply, her manager, who must be a very irresponsible person, took another show on the same day as Jessica's birthday. Then now she calls to say that she won’t come, if I don’t want her to come on Saturday here at home,” Francisca said.

Francisca also questioned the professional posture of Melody’s team. “We hired her dearly so she could be at Jessica’s birthday party. We have gone through several bits with them, we have already paid more than was in the contract to hire jet. And her excuse today is that she's afraid to get into a little jet. Is that a professional thing?” he asked. The mother also mentioned that the family had already paid for additional funds to enable the singer’s transport.

Melody's Father Explains Cancellation

Belinho stated that he was willing to cover the difference to perform the show.
