Parati is destroyed and two victims are in critical condition at Neves
Frontal collision on Rio Cavernoso Street in Ponta Grossa leaves two victims in critical condition. Parati was destroyed and rescue teams were called.
A head-on collision between two cars left two people in serious condition late Wednesday afternoon at Rua Rio Cavernoso in the Neves region at Ponta Grossa. The accident occurred in the vicinity of the train bridge and the Federal University of Technology of Paraná (UTFPR), former Cefet.
According to updated information received by the Portal BnT Online, one of the vehicles involved, a Volkswagen Parati, was completely destroyed after the crash.
One of the victims was stuck to the hardware and had to be removed from the car by the rescue teams.
The two victims were classified as code 3, a condition that indicates serious condition and the need for urgent medical attention.
So far, no official information has been released about the identity or age of the injured people.
Samu Aeromedical Service to assist serious victims
In view of the seriousness of the accident, the aeromedical team of the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) was activated and arrived at the site to assist in the service.
Teams of the Fire Department’s Integrated Emergency Trauma Service (SIATE) were also mobilized to provide relief to the victims.
An Alpha ambulance, the Samu’s advanced support unit, was also triggered and was on the move to reinforce attendance at the occurrence.
There is still no confirmation about the hospitals to which the victims will be referred.
Partially blocked traffic in the Neves region
The collision caused the partial blockage of Rua Rio Cavernoso, in the vicinity of UTFPR.
Images of the Portal BnT Online show the Parati completely destroyed, another car heavily damaged and debris scattered across the track.
The traffic presents slowness in the stretch, with the formation of queues of vehicles. Drivers who need to pass through the region should redouble their attention and, if possible, look for alternative routes.
The circumstances that caused the frontal collision have not yet been clarified.
