PG 203 ano: SEPAM, education that shapes generations of success

Since 1939, the SEPAM College has been involved in the construction of quality education in Ponta Grossa, combining tradition, innovation and integral training.

Founded in Ponta Grossa on October 30, 1939, the Educational Society Professor Altair Mongruel – SEPAM has built, over more than eight decades, a distinguished educational trajectory of the city and the state. Since its origin, the institution has as its purpose the integral training of its students, valuing knowledge, human development, good habits and the construction of values.

Throughout its history, SEPAM has followed the transformations of society and incorporated new possibilities into the educational process, maintaining its principles. This combination of tradition and innovation is present in its pedagogical proposal, in bilingual teaching and in the experiences that broaden the horizons of its students.

One of the milestones of this trajectory is the American High School program, offered by SEPAM since 2015, exclusively in the region. Developed through an agreement with the University of Missouri (Mizzou), at Estados Unidos, the program allows students to study simultaneously the Brazilian and North American curricula, with classes in English. The proposal broadens academic possibilities and provides an international experience during basic school education. Through the International Office, SEPAM promotes exchanges, academic experiences abroad, visits to universities and guidance for students wishing to build international trajectories.

The training offered by the institution goes beyond the classroom. In sport, sports such as basketball, futsal, rhythmic gymnastics, handball, judo, taekwondo, table tennis, volleyball and chess are part of the routine of our students with expressive results in municipal, state and national competitions. The partnership with Operário Ferroviário Esporte Clube further expands this performance, highlighting the fifth national place in the Sub-9 category of the Brazil Futsal Cup.

Art, culture and coexistence are also part of the training of students at SEPAM: drawing, dance, singing, piano, theater, guitar, yoga, pilates and board games stimulate creativity and expression. Festivals and cultural shows bring together school, students, families and the community.

The commitment to citizen training is manifested in projects of youth protagonism, sustainability and social responsibility: ECOPAM, Citizenship Group, Step by Step and Menarca Project; initiatives that have already received national and international recognition, including UN awards.

Students also participate in academic Olympics and achieve expressive results in entrance exams and selective processes, in leading universities in Brazil and abroad.

More than numbers and achievements, the history of SEPAM is formed by the people who have passed through its spaces. More than 50,000 students have already been part of this trajectory, accompanied by educators, collaborators and families who have contributed to building an institution that is part of the memory and educational identity of Ponta Grossa.

From Educação Infantil to Terceirão, SEPAM continues to write its history, looking to the future without forgetting the roots that brought it here.
