Ponta Grossa has storm warning with hail and winds up to 100 km/h
Warning from INMET points to risk of flooding, falling trees and power outages on this Tuesday (13); Center-East is among the regions covered

The National Meteorological Institute (INMET) issued a storm warning on Paraná, with a degree of severity classified as danger, for this Tuesday (13). The warning started at 9:05 and is valid until 23:59, with forecasts of heavy rain, winds that can reach 100 km / h and hailfall.
According to the statement, rainfall can reach volumes of 30 to 60 millimeters per hour or 50 to 100 millimeters throughout the day. The forecast wind gusts range from 60 to 100 km/h.
Weather conditions present a risk of interruption in the supply of electricity, damage to plantations, falling trees and flooding. The warning indicates the possibility of severe phenomena within the covered area, without meaning that all localities will have the same rain volumes or the same wind intensity.
Eastern Center is in the warning area
Among the Paraná regions listed in the alert is the Eastern Center, where Ponta Grossa is located. Also appear the Metropolitan Region of Curitiba, North Pioneer, North Central, Northwest, West Center, West, Southwest, Center-South and Southeast of the State.
The area covered by the communiqué also extends to the regions of São Paulo, Mato Grosso of the South and the North of Catarinense. As the list of municipalities available in the material is incomplete, it does not allow individually identifying all the cities included.
Guidance to protect yourself
During wind gusts, the INMET’s orientation is not to shelter under trees, due to the risk of falling and electric shocks. It is also recommended to avoid parking vehicles near transmission towers and advertising signs.
If possible and under safe conditions, the institute advises to turn off electrical appliances and the overall power supply. Residents should keep an eye on the evolution of the weather and the updates of the responsible bodies.
