Ponta Grossa has two projects among the winners of the Paraná Public Manager Award
Ponta Grossa once again gains state recognition with two projects selected in the Paraná Public Manager Award. Get to know the initiatives.

Ponta Grossa is among the municipalities recognized in the 14th edition of the Paraná Public Manager Award (PGP-PR). Two projects developed by the City Hall were selected among the winning initiatives of the state award: Viva a Cultura na Minha Vila, of the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, and Mobility in Open Data, linked to the Municipal Secretariat of Infrastructure.
This is the second year in a row that Ponta Grossa has projects recognized by the award.
The selection was defined after the evaluation of the Judging Commission of the PGP-PR, held on September 30. In this edition, 177 approved initiatives were analyzed, presented by 69 municipalities of Paraná.
Of the total, 38 projects were contemplated, representing 31 cities in Paraná.
According to prefeita Elizabeth Schmidt, the recognition highlights works developed in different areas of the municipal administration, but with the common objective of expanding the access of the population to public services.
“Ponta Grossa being again among the municipalities recognized by the Paraná Public Manager Award is a reason for satisfaction and, above all, recognition of the work of our teams,” he says.
The mayor also highlights that the projects present different forms of innovation.
“We have projects that show two different ways of innovating: bringing culture into neighborhoods and making public transport information more open and accessible to the population.”
Culture reaches the neighborhoods
Created in 2026 by the Municipal Secretariat of Culture, Viva a Cultura na Minha Vila aims to decentralize cultural activities and expand the access of the population to artistic programming.
The project envisages four editions during the year, held in different neighborhoods of Ponta Grossa. All activities are free.
The program includes circus, dance, theatre, music and visual arts performances, as well as workshops and film sessions.
Another point of the initiative is the participation of artists and groups from the communities where the activities are carried out.
The proposal also seeks to bring children and adolescents closer to the different cultural manifestations and to transform public spaces of the neighborhoods into places of coexistence, creation and contact with art.
According to the municipal secretary of Culture, Alberto Portugal, decentralization allows to expand the scope of cultural policies in the municipality.
“The decentralization of culture is a commitment to the city. When we bring art into the villages, we create new opportunities for access and expand the dialogue between artists and the community,” he says.
The Municipal Secretariat of Culture had already been recognized by the award in 2025, with the project Cultural Satellite.
Transparency in public transport
The second project of Ponta Grossa recognized in this edition is the Open Data Mobility, developed in the area of Infrastructure.
The initiative consists of a transparency portal that gathers information about the Ponta Grossa urban public transport system.
The platform provides data related to the operation of public transport, fleet, lines, shipments, payment methods, integrations, free of charge, subsidies, legislation and tariff sheets.
You can also consult tax notes and indicators related to the use of the system.
The objective is to facilitate access to information and allow residents, researchers, control bodies and other interested parties to follow in more detail the operation of public transport.
Before the creation of the portal, according to the Municipality, this information was distributed among different documents, systems and administrative processes.
With the deployment of the platform, the data was gathered in a single environment and presented in a simpler and more dynamic way.
The project now also competes in the main award categories.
Awards take place in November
