PRF intercepts car with 170 kg of marijuana to be delivered in Ponta Grossa

The seizure of marijuana in Ponta Grossa carried out by the Federal Highway Police (PRF) on Tuesday (6) ended with a driver arrested and 170.22 kilos of the drug removed from circulation. The narcotic was in a VW Up Move boarded at kilometer 184 of the BR-373.

According to PRF, the action took place around 12:11 p.m. in the early afternoon. The vehicle was registered in Ponta Grossa, on Campos Gerais do Paraná.

Tablets were on the floor and in the back seat

During the approach, police officers viewed black tablet-shaped casings on the passenger-side floor and the rear seat of the car. The presence of the packages led the team to carry out a more detailed oversight. At the checkup, officers also found suitcases with marijuana in the back seat and trunk.

In all, the cargo located in the vehicle weighed 170.22 kilograms, according to the balance reported by the corporation. The drug was distributed in different parts of the car. The material initially found in the passenger space and in the rear seat was added to the narcotic carried in the suitcases.

Driver reported that he would make delivery in Ponta Grossa

Asked by the team, the driver said that he had carried the drug in São Miguel do Iguaçu, in the west of the Paraná. According to his report to the police, the final destination of the cargo was Ponta Grossa.

Information on the origin and destination of the narcotic was presented by the driver during the approach, according to PRF. The identity and age of the driver were not disclosed in the statement.

After the cargo was located, the driver received a voice of arrest for drug trafficking. He was referred to the 13th Police Subdivision of Ponta Grossa, along with the vehicle and marijuana seized, for the flagrant proceedings.
