Soya Production in the 26/27 Harvest is Expected to Rise by 4% in Paraná
Projected Volume is 22.75 Million Tons. The Estimate Considers an Area of 5.74 Million Hectares Intended for Soya

The soybean production of the Paraná in the 2026/2027 crop is projected at 22.75 million tons, an increase of 4% compared to the previous cycle. The data is part of the new crop estimate released on Thursday (29), by the Department of Rural Economy (Deral), the State Secretariat for Agriculture and Supply (Seab).
The estimate considers area of 5.74 million hectares destined for soybeans. The planting has already reached 62% of the area planned and, among the implanted crops, 88% have good conditions, 11% are in average condition and 1% in bad condition. The numbers may still change as the cycle progresses and weather conditions in the coming months.
According to Larissa Nahirny, coordinator of the Statistics Division of the Department of Rural Economics (Deral), the climatic effects were more expressive in winter crops, with losses in both productivity and grain quality. In summer crops, estimates may still change as weather conditions evolve.
WINTER
Paraná’s winter grain production is estimated at 2.84 million tons, a volume 28% lower than in 2025, when it reached approximately 3.9 million tons. The result mainly reflects unfavorable climatic conditions, with excess rainfall during development and crop harvest, which impaired the productivity and quality of grains.
For wheat, the forecast is 1.9 million tons, down 34% from 2.88 million tons harvested in 2025. The fall is related both to the reduction of 12% in the area cultivated and to the loss of productivity, estimated at 44 bags per hectare, compared to 54 bags in the previous cycle. Frequent rains during the harvest also compromised the quality of the cereal, which may limit the supply of adequate wheat to the bakery industry.
In a scenario of reduction in winter grain production, canola stood out with the estimate of doubling the volume produced in the Paraná compared to the previous cycle. The result follows the expansion of the area cultivated with the oilseed in the State, which contributed to partially compensate the losses recorded in the culture.
MAISON AND LUTHENS
The planting of the first 2026/27 maize crop reached 94% of the slightly more than 372,000 hectares planned. The estimated production is 4.08 million tons. Of the crops planted, 78% are in good condition, 20% in median condition and 2% in bad condition.
Among the vegetables, potato planting reached 77% of the area expected, compared to 90% expected for October. In tomatoes, the index reached 66%, compared with a reference of 77%. Onions have an estimated production of 96,500 tonnes, a reduction of 23.3% compared to 2018, an area 50.5% lower in the same period.
PECUARY
The Business Bulletin of week 44, also published on Thursday (29) by Deral, points to pressure on production costs on poultry and pig chains. In September, the cost of live chicken reached R$ 4.96 per kilo, above the average price received by the producer, of R$ 4.75. In pig farming, the cost was R$ 6.13 per kilo, while the average price received was R$ 5.17.
In the dairy market, the prices of long-lived milk, pasteurized milk and muçarela cheese fell in the Paraná retail in October. State imports of dairy products grew approximately 19% between January and September 2026, compared to the same period of the previous year.
