String Orchestra Gives Free Concert with Brazilian Classics in PG
Free Concert in Ponta Grossa Will Take Place on Thursday (14), Featuring "Asa Branca," "Mulher Rendeira," and Other Works at the Music Conservatory
The Orchestra of Strings Maestro Paulino holds this Wednesday (14) a free concert in Ponta Grossa, with repertoire that unites concert music and references of Brazilian culture. The presentation will be at 7 pm, in the Drama-Musical Conservatory Maestro Paulino Martins Alves, in the Jovanni Pedro Masini Cultural Complex.
Focusing on the appreciation of identidade regional and the musical production developed in the municipality, the concert will have five works composed, adapted or arranged by Luiz Eduardo Corbani, composer and teacher of the Conservatory.
Brazilian music gains prominence in the repertoire
Among the pieces chosen for the presentation are “Umbuzada”, “Mulher Rendeira” and “Asa Branca”, works that bring the language of concert music closer to known elements of Brazilian popular culture.
The audience can also accompany “Sete Peças Infantis”, by the Hungarian composer Béla Bartók, with an arrangement developed by Corbani, as well as variations on the theme “Brilha, Brilha Estrelinha”.
The compositions and adaptations were developed during Corbani's participation in a project dedicated to the formation of a string orchestra, incorporating elements of his research and his musical language.
Invited Maestro participates in the presentation
The concert will be directed by Marco Ferri, with Luiz Eduardo Corbani as guest conductor.
Also included in the presentation are professors Amanda Farias, Bruno Rosa and Bruna Buschle, who participate as special guests.
The proposal also makes it possible for musicians to perform the pieces under direct guidance of the composer and arranger himself, bringing the process of musical creation closer to the performance on stage.
Concert has free entry
The initiative integrates the activities developed by the Conservatory of the Municipal Secretariat of Culture of Ponta Grossa and seeks to expand the public's access to the music production held in the city.
Entrance to the concert is free.
