U.S. and Denmark close agreement on Greenland

The Estados Unidos announced on Friday an agreement that gives the country permanent control over Greenland’s security. The announcement was made by President Donald Trump in a post on the Truth Social network. Denmark, which has sovereignty over the autonomous territory, sees the measure as a step forward for the European Union and NATO.

According to Copenhagen, the agreement is expected to be signed next week in New York during the UN General Assembly. The text recognizes the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Denmark and the right of the Greenland people to self-determination, Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen said.
