After Sandro Alex's defeat, PSD mayors approach Moro in an event by Flávio in Paraná

PSD mayors who were in the opposing camp of Sérgio Moro in the state election begin to approach the elected governor through mobilization in support of Flávio Bolsonaro in Paraná. The mayor of Curitiba, Eduardo Pimentel, confirmed his presence and began to invite other leaders to the suprapartisan dinner on Tuesday (13), at the Madalosso restaurant.

The move comes after the defeat of Sandro Alex (PSD), a candidate supported by governador Ratinho Junior. Moro won the Paraná government contest in the first round, with 50.10% of the valid votes, while Sandro finished in second place, with 25.37%. Pimentel coordinated the campaign of the PSD candidate in Curitiba and the Metropolitan Region.

Pimentel enters the mobilization

In a video released on social networks on Sunday (11), Pimentel invited mayors, mayors and leaders from different regions to the meeting in support of Flávio. The mayor presented the meeting as an opportunity for dialogue on the future of the country. Their participation puts a leadership of the PSD that supported Sandro Alex in the mobilization organized by Moro’s group.

According to the backstage, they also confirmed the presence of Tiago Amaral (PSD), mayor of Londrina, and Renato Silva (PL), mayor of Cascavel. Both had a role in the Sandro Alex campaign. Renato, therefore, is part of the group of former supporters of the defeated candidate, but does not belong to the PSD: his informed affiliation is to the PL.

Ratinho Junior also announces support for Flavio

The movement of mayors takes place in a scenario of national rapprochement between leaders who were on opposite sides in the state dispute. On Saturday, Ratinho Junior declared support for Flávio Bolsonaro after a phone conversation with the candidate.

The contact was mediated by the governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans). In a post on social networks, Ratinho said that the two will walk together for the future of Brazil.

Thus, support for the presidential candidate of the PL began to gather both Moro and the governor who worked for the election of Sandro Alex.

Approach with Moro does not confirm adherence to the government

The presences announced indicate willingness to divide the same political space around the candidacy of Flavio. This, however, does not allow to affirm that all the mayors of the PSD have come to integrate the base of Moro or have assumed a commitment to support the future state government.

The political reading is that dinner opens up an opportunity for approach after the campaign. The relationship with the next governor may also weigh on municipal articulations by 2028, when mayors may seek re-election. This is an analysis scenario, not a negotiation confirmed by participants. Nor is there, in the material consulted, a complete list of PSD mayors who joined the meeting or a collective decision of the legend to support Moro.

The event brings together representatives of seven political parties.

Dinner is organized by Moro, Filipe Barros and Deltan Dallagnol. Until Monday (12), there was confirmation of representatives of PL, Novo, Podemos, PP, União Brasil, Republicans and PSD. The expected number of participants was approximately 2,000, with programming starting at 7 p.m. Participation in the dinner will be optional, by membership of R$ 100, with payment on site, according to the statement of the organization.

Flávio Bolsonaro will not be present.
