Those who have felt the cold on Tuesday (8) in Ponta Grossa should prepare the jacket for the next days. The forecast indicates a further sharp drop in temperatures over the weekend, with highs that may be in the range of 13 ° C on Sunday (13) and Monday (14).

This Tuesday, Ponta Grossa records warmer temperatures, with a maximum forecast of 21°C. The scenario changes gradually over the course of the week, with increased instability, rainfall and the possibility of storms before the arrival of the coldest period.

After cold, storms return to Paraná on Wednesday, Simepar warns

On Wednesday, the forecast points to the possibility of rain and storms, with temperatures still relatively high. Between Thursday (10), Friday (11) and Saturday (12), instability should continue, paving the way for a more significant drop in thermometers.

Why is it going to be so cold?

The change is associated with the action of cold fronts and the advance of a colder air mass over the South of Brazil. After the passage of the rain systems, the icy air manages to advance through the Paraná and cause temperatures to drop, especially in higher altitude regions.

Ponta Grossa and Campos Gerais often feel this type of change intensely because of the location and characteristics of the regional relief. Another factor contributing to the feeling of cold is the large amount of clouds. With little sunshine, daytime warming is limited, causing even maximum temperatures to remain low.

Maximum of only 13°C

The coldest period should occur between Sunday and Monday. The current forecast points to maximums close to 13 ° C in the two days, while the minimums should be close to 10 ° C.

On Tuesday (15), the minimum can reach 9°C, although there is possibility of recovery of the temperatures during the afternoon.

Before the cold falls, Ponta Grossa is also expected to face rainy days. There is a weather alert for storms, with the possibility of heavy rain, gusts of wind and eventual hailfall throughout the week.

Since medium-term forecasts may change, especially in relation to cold intensity and rain volumes, the guidance is to follow the weather updates in the coming days.
