Driver arrested after accident and signs of intoxication in Ponta Grossa

A drunken driving case on Ponta Grossa ended with the arrest of a driver on Saturday night after a Renault Sandero hit the rear of a semi-trailer parked on Latino Coelho Street.

The incident was recorded at around 22:27, near the number 437 of the road. A team of patrulhamento viário was triggered by the Central to initially respond to a traffic accident without victims.

According to the report of the occurrence, the Renault Sandero followed the Rua Latino Coelho in the direction of Avenida Presidente Kennedy when, approaching the indicated address, it hit the rear of a semi-trailer that was properly parked.

Officers identify signs of drunkenness

During the service, the agents spoke with the driver, identified by the initials M.J.L. According to the record, he presented signs considered compatible with alcohol intake, including red eyes, difficulty in balance and ethyl odor.

Given the situation, the ethylometer test was offered to the driver, but he refused to perform the procedure.

Even without the test, the agents made a finding term based on the signs observed during the approach. The accident and suspected drunk driving on Ponta Grossa were also reported.

According to the information recorded by the traffic team, an infringement order was issued with reference to article 165 of the Brazilian Traffic Code (CTB).

Driver was referred to the Flaglante Central

After the procedures carried out on site, the driver received a voice of arrest and was referred to the 4th Regional Flagrants Center of Ponta Grossa, where he would remain at the disposal of the authorities for the appropriate procedures.

The Renault Sandero involved in the crash was also seized.

Despite the collision against the semi-trailer, there was no record of people injured in the occurrence.
