More than 120 dancers bring the magic of Narnia to the stage in Ponta Grossa
Narnia spectacle in Ponta Grossa gathers over 120 dancers at Cine-Teatro Ópera between October 16 and 18
The magic of Narnia in Ponta Grossa comes to life on the stage of Cine-Teatro Ópera this weekend. More than 120 dancers participate in the show “The Chronicles of Narnia – The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”, produced by the Sagrada Família School of Dance and inspired by the classic work of C.S. - Lewis.
The presentations take place on Friday (16) and Saturday (17), at 8 pm, and a session on Sunday (18), at 6 pm. With free classification, the assembly was prepared for audiences of all ages.
Through dance, interpretation, music, costumes and scenarios, the show aims to transport viewers to the fantastic universe of Narnia, bringing to the stage characters and elements of a story marked by adventure, friendship, courage, hope and the confrontation between good and evil.
A journey through the universe of Narnia
According to the teacher Letícia Barszcz, coordinator of the show, the proposal is to have the audience follow a true narrative through the choreographies.
“The audience can expect a show full of magic, emotion and fantasy. We are preparing a production that seeks to transport viewers to the Narnia universe, through dance, music, costumes, scenarios and the entire artistic construction,” he says.
Letícia explains that the project goes beyond a traditional dance presentation, since the different choreographies and characters have been organized to tell a story from beginning to end.
“Our proposal is to go beyond a dance performance, bringing a narrative that connects different characters and choreographies, making the audience follow this so charming story. We want children and adults to get excited and experience with us this experience, which was prepared with great care and dedication,” he says.
Months of preparation for the show
The production has more than 120 dancers, among students and guests. To put the whole structure on stage, work began months before the performances.
According to the coordinator, in addition to the essays, the assembly involves several stages, such as construction of the script, definition of the songs, production of the costumes, elaboration of the scenarios and artistic preparation of the participants.
“It was a process of many months of planning, creation and preparation. A show of this size requires intense work, which begins long before rehearsals on stage,” explains Letícia.
Participating dancers have different ages and levels of experience, which was also taken into account during the preparation.
“Each class has its role within history, and we seek to respect the particularities and development of each dancer. It has been months of hard work, rehearsals and dedication of our entire team,” he said.
The teacher also highlights the participation of families throughout the preparation process.
“We have the support of the families who were present during this walk. It’s a collective work, and each person has their importance for everything to happen.”
Art, education and emotion
For the Sagrada Família School of Dance, the presentation also represents the conclusion of a long artistic and educational process.
“I believe that what makes this show so special is precisely the opportunity to unite art, education and emotion in a single production,” says Letícia Barszcz.
According to her, taking the stage allows dancers to put into practice the learning built during the months of preparation, in addition to developing aspects such as artistic expression, coexistence and overcoming challenges.
“It is the moment when our dancers can experience everything they have learned throughout the process, develop their artistic expression, overcome challenges and share the stage with their colleagues,” he explains.
The coordinator also points out that the presentation is an opportunity to bring the community closer to the dance.
“It is also an opportunity to show the Ponta Grossa community the importance of dance and how much it contributes to the training of children and young people, not only artistically, but also as individuals,” he says.
“We want to provide the audience with a remarkable experience and, above all, create memories that our dancers and their families will carry forever,” he concludes.
