Rural producers have until Sunday (11) to acquire SaneBio, an agricultural fertilizer developed by the Sanitation Company of Paraná (Sanepar). Around 2,700 tons of the product destined for agriculture are still available. The forecast is that a fourth edict will be released by the end of this year. The initiative is part of the Agricultural Sludge Assessment Program.

In this third notice, 5,580 tons of the product were made available, more than double the volume distributed in the first phase of the program, in March of this year. In the first two edicts, all available sludge was purchased and several farmers were placed on a waiting list for subsequent lots.

The largest amount in this third call is for the regions of Curitiba and Ponta Grossa. The results achieved by SaneBio are widely recognized by users, with technical and scientific proof, as well as national and international awards.

The agricultural sludge of Sanepar can be requested by rural producers of any size, from any region of the Paraná, through online registration, presentation of personal documents, proof of residence, information of cultivated species, size of the area of application and analysis of soil fertility.

All the requirements and necessary documents are on the notice page, where you can register to participate. On the website it is also possible to check the SaneBio production sites for the applicant to verify the distance.

The biosolid offered to natural and legal persons (owners, tenants or legal representatives of rural properties) by the Agricultural Sludge Assessment program has a symbolic cost, which can vary between R$ 20 and R$ 100 per tonne of product, depending on the type - the classification is in the notice and varies according to the treatment of the sludge.

Payment and Withdrawal deadlines - Applications are processed in order of completed registration and, after receiving the documentation from the producer, Sanepar has up to 20 working days to analyze and communicate about the permit. After the invoice is generated – composed of the value of the sludge and the value of the transport, if it is done by Sanepar – the producer has up to ten calendar days to make the payment. In this period, the sludge is reserved for the applicant.

If there is no payment, the volume is available again to another producer. Once paid, the producer has up to 15 calendar days to remove the fertilizer in one of the Sludge Management Units (SMU) indicated by Sanepar and up to 30 calendar days after transport to make the application on the ground. At the time of accreditation, the producer must request at least 50 tonnes.

All information is available on the program page. Farmers can send inquiries to the email [email protected].

SaneBio is treated and sanitized under strict technical and environmental standards. Rich in organic matter, nitrogen, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, sulfur and micronutrients, it contributes to soil fertility and helps reduce costs with fertilizers and correctives. When sanitized with lime, it also acts on the correction of acidity. Each lot is accompanied by a previous report from the Company, and the application follows an agronomic project also elaborated by Sanepar.

The disposal of sludge is one of the greatest challenges of the world’s basic sanitation. In 2025 alone, the management of almost 300,000 tons of wet sludge generated in Sanepar’s 269 sewage treatment plants (SETS) demanded an investment from the Company of more than R$ 60 million. By valuing sewage sludge with SaneBio, Sanepar guarantees the rural producer the receipt of a high quality agricultural input, with competitive price and predictability for the planning of the next agricultural harvest.
