UEPG opens competition for hiring professors; 65 positions available
Registrations are from January 14 to February 10, 2026
The State University of Ponta Grossa (UEPG) published on Thursday (18) the notice of opening of public tender for teachers, non-owners, members of the career of the Public Magisterium of the State of Paraná. 65 vacancies are offered, distributed in 56 areas of knowledge, and applications go from January 14 to February 10, 2026.
It is the first competition for effective teachers in a decade – the last one was held in 2016. “This teaching contest is historic,” commemorates the dean of UEPG, Miguel Sanches Neto. “Not only because it resumes the replacement of retired teachers, thus strengthening the framework itself, after a decade without opening vacancies for staff, but mainly because it is the result of a collective construction of criteria to allocate vacancies in the Departments. It demonstrates the participatory way of doing management that we defend in all areas.” The rector also highlights that the periodic replacement of vacancies generated by retirement and exoneration will be a common practice from this contest, to correct asymmetries and enhance strategic areas of the University.

The pro-dean of People Management, Professor Eliane Rauski, recalls that there was a significant effort of the university community for the preparation of this contest, which included the updating of the regulation and the definition of criteria for the allocation of vacancies – which were widely discussed and built in a collective way with the Departments of the different Knowledge Sectors. “As an innovation, the first criterion was the search for internal equity, establishing the proportion of 80% of effective teachers and 20% of teachers in the Cres regime, which proved to be a more just and balanced guideline. This concept allows the Departments to plan more effective strategies for the verticalization of education, since the lag previously existing in this criterion limited the creation and strengthening of master and doctoral programs,” he explains. “Although there are still specific points to be adjusted, the new model has already enabled a more appropriate distribution of vacancies between the courses, representing an important advance for the academic and institutional development of UEPG.” In addition, the process contemplated the allocation of new vacancies for teaching departments responsible for the opening of new undergraduate courses: Architecture and Urbanism, Nutrition and Psychology.
Contest
The competition will be held in eliminatory and qualifying stages. The elimination phase includes a written test with public reading and objective questions about the Status of Children and Adolescents, a didactic test with arguments and, where applicable, a practical test. The classification stage consists of the evaluation of titles and the work plan. To advance between phases, the candidate must obtain a minimum score of 7.0 in each stage.
The registrations will be made exclusively by the internet, in the period defined in the schedule of the notice. The registration fee is R$ 480, with the possibility of exemption for candidates who meet the criteria provided by law, such as enrolled in Cadúnico, blood, bone marrow or human milk donors, in addition to voters summoned by Justiça Eleitoral.
The edict provides for the reservation of vacancies, with 10% intended for black candidates (black and brown) and 5% for people with disabilities, according to current legislation. Of the total offered, seven vacancies are reserved for black candidates and three for people with disabilities, following specific criteria of destination among the areas of knowledge. As a novelty in this event, a draw will be held, on January 13, to define the allocation of vacancies destined to quotas between the areas of knowledge that offer only one vacancy.
The entire selection process will be conducted by the Coordinating Committee of the Public Contest of Evidence and Titles for Teachers of the UEPG (CCCPPD). The dates, places of testing, dissemination of results, calls and other official information will be available on the University’s website, in the area of Selective Contests and Tests.
