Ended the rain? Alert predicts risk of new weather events in the PG region; see when
Warning from INMET is valid until 23h59 today (7), with possibility of hail and wind gusts up to 60 km/h

The possibility of thunderstorms in the Ponta Grossa region continues on Wednesday, according to a warning from the National Institute of Meteorology (INMET). Classified as a potential danger, the alert covers the Centro Oriental Paranaense and remains valid until 23:59. The conditions indicated include heavy rain, gusts of wind and possibility of hailfall.
According to the institute, rainfall can occur between 20 and 30 millimeters per hour or accumulated up to 50 millimeters throughout the day. The forecast winds range from 40 to 60 kilometers per hour.
The warning started at midnight on Wednesday. Despite indicating favorable conditions for the formation of storms during this period, the statement does not establish a specific time for the arrival of rain in each municipality.
Pause in the rain does not mean end of the alert
Even if the rain gives a truce, the period of validity of the warning requires attention to changes in weather conditions. The possibility of new strikes remains within the window informed by INMET.
This does not mean that all municipalities in the regions covered will have storms or record the same volumes of precipitation. The warning points out the phenomena that may occur and the associated risks during the indicated period.
In addition to the Paranaense Oriental Center, the release includes other regions of the Paraná, such as the Curitiba Metropolitan, the North Pioneer, the Central North, the Northwest, the West, the Southeast and the Center-South.
What are the anticipated risks?
According to INMET, there is a low risk of interruption in the supply of electricity, damage to plantations, fall of tree branches and flooding. The possibility of hail also appears in the statement. Therefore, residents should observe the weather conditions before carrying out outdoor activities and follow the guidelines of emergency organs.
The INMET recommends that people do not shelter under trees during gusts of wind, due to the risk of falling branches and electric shocks. It is also necessary to avoid parking vehicles near transmission towers and advertising signs. Another guideline is to avoid the use of electronic devices connected to the outlet during the storm.
