Flávio predicts Lula's fall and admits to running before 2030
Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) stated that President Lula may face economic difficulties and fall "much earlier than many people imagine." He also signaled his willingness to run for President before 2030.

Senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL-RJ) stated, in a live broadcast, that President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva may face an early fall due to the country's economic situation. According to the MP, the campaign promises of the petista are incompatible with the reality of public accounts. The statement was made during a live, in which Flavio also admitted the possibility of competing for the Presidency of the Republic before 2030.
According to the senator, if Lula fulfills the commitments announced, the Brazilian economy could deteriorate rapidly. "If he does what he promised, Brazil will break even faster," he said. Flávio believes that the economic crisis could overthrow the president "much sooner than many people imagine".
Ready for a new presidential candidacy
When addressing his political future, Flavio mentioned the almost 60 million votes he received in the second round of the 2022 elections, when he ran for the Senate for Rio de Janeiro. He has signaled that he is ready to return to the Presidency of the Republic if necessary. “Whatever happens I will be here ready, even if it is necessary to contest the Presidency of the Republic again,” he said.
The senator was emphatic in ruling out waiting until 2030. “I’m not talking about 2030, no. I’m talking about before that,” he said. The speech indicates that the parliamentarian considers a scenario of early election or vacancy of office.
Focus on Congress and support for Marine
Flávio also argued that the opposition should focus its work on the Congresso Nacional, especially in the Senate. During the broadcast, he announced support for Senator Rogério Marinho (PL-RN) for the presidency of the House and called on his supporters to pressure MPs to vote on the ally.
In the senator’s assessment, the Senate command would be an important front to contain the initiatives of the petista government. He classified the Legislative as the main resistance trench of the opposition. The declaration reinforces the strategy of confronting the Lula government through parliament.
Version on exit from Brazil
During the live, Flávio also presented his version on the circumstances of the departure from Brazil. According to him, the decision was made after a visit to his father, the former president Jair Bolsonaro (PL), on Monday (26). The senator said he interpreted the judicial measure against him as the beginning of a persecution.
Flavio reported a reserved conversation with the father, in which Jair Bolsonaro showed concern about the consequences of the court decision and asked if the son understood where the measures could go. After returning home, the senator said he spoke with his wife, Fernanda Antunes Figueira Bolsonaro, and decided to travel with the family.
He denied that other people had participated in the planning. "The decision I made along with my wife, without anyone knowing, even because if they knew, the chance of going wrong would be greater," he said. The parliamentarian rejected the interpretation that he had left the country and summed up his justification in a sentence: "I did not leave Brazil. I went to Brazil.”
Action at a distance and criticism of the Judiciary
Flavio stated that he intends to continue exercising influence over the opposition to the Lula government even though he is in the Estados Unidos. According to him, the distance will allow to express opinions that, in his assessment, could be censored or result in reprisals if he remained in Brazil.
The senator classified the Brazilian institutional situation as an "exceptional regime" and accused the judiciary of acting politically. He also stated that he would not be able to appeal to national institutions if he considered himself a victim of injustice. The speech reinforces the tone of confrontation with the Brazilian judicial system.
The statements of Flávio Bolsonaro come at a time of tension between the opposition and the Lula government, with disputes in Congress and questions about the conduct of the economy. The senator signals that he will continue to act politically, even outside the country, and keeps the door open for a presidential candidacy ahead of schedule.
