FASPG presents projects to the Chamber and seeks resources to expand social assistance in Ponta Grossa

The Social Welfare Foundation of Ponta Grossa (FASPG) presented on Wednesday a set of projects that may receive resources from parliamentary amendments. The initiative was presented during the plenary session of the Câmara Municipal and aims to strengthen the social assistance services offered to the population of Ponta Grossa.

The presentation was conducted by the president of FASPG, Tatyana Belo, who detailed the Foundation’s institutional portfolio and the Project Bank, a document that brings together investment proposals in different areas of social assistance.

The intention is to bring councilors closer to the needs faced by municipal services, facilitating the allocation of resources for actions that directly benefit families in situations of social vulnerability.

Projects include improvements in units and accessibility

Among the initiatives presented by FASPG are investments in infrastructure, population care and accessibility.

One of the proposals provides for the acquisition of a rubberized floor and a toy house for the playground of Casa Corina Portugal, a unit that welcomes women victims of violence and their dependents.

Another project contemplates the purchase of tents to expand the decentralized services of the Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS), especially in more remote communities and in the rural area of Ponta Grossa.

The Project Bank also plans to renew the fleet of vehicles adapted for wheelchair users, with the aim of expanding mobility and facilitating access for people with disabilities to public services.

At CRAS Vila XV, the proposal is to expand the physical structure of the unit, with the construction of new service and listening rooms, a lounge for group activities and a laundry.

Parliamentary amendments can make investments possible

During the presentation, Tatyana Belo highlighted the importance of the participation of the Legislative in the expansion and improvement of social assistance services.

"Our goal was to show councilors, in a clear and transparent way, the work that FASPG does and where our greatest needs are. When the legislature knows the reality of social assistance, the amendments arrive with more effectiveness to those who need it most," Tatyana says.

Tax amendments are instruments that allow councilors to indicate the allocation of part of the resources of the municipal budget for specific projects and actions, according to budget rules.

With the Project Bank, the Foundation intends to facilitate the identification of priorities and present concrete alternatives to the application of these resources.

The City Council also has a project bank.

In addition to FASPG proposals, the president reported that the Municipal Council of Social Assistance (CMAS) maintains its own project bank, which can also receive resources from parliamentary amendments.

According to Tatyana, the receptiveness of the councillors during the presentation was positive and represents an opportunity to strengthen the partnership between the Executive and Legislative powers.

"We were very happy with the reception of the councilors. Portfolio and Project Bank are dialogue tools that bring the Chamber closer to our services and help turn the destination of amendments into concrete results for Ponta Grossa families,” he said.

The expectation is that the proposals presented contribute to direct future investments to improve the care structure, social inclusion and strengthening the network of protection of families in the municipality.
