Man is arrested after leaving wooded area in PG Center
Arrest warrant in Ponta Grossa is executed by GCM after intercepting a couple leaving a wooded area in the city's central region
An arrest warrant in Ponta Grossa was carried out by the Municipal Civil Guard (GCM) on Thursday night during patrols in the central region of the city. The approach took place around 19:50, after agents of the Tactical Actions Group (GAT) visualized a couple leaving a forest area known for recurring drug trafficking reports.
According to the information of the occurrence, the guards carried out preventive patrols when they perceived the movement of the couple. Given the circumstances and the history of complaints related to the site, the team decided to conduct the approach for investigation.
During the review, the officers did not find drugs, weapons or any other illicit material with those approached. However, when consulting the man’s data at the National Bank for Penal Measures and Prisons (BNMP), the team found that there was an open arrest warrant against him.
The man was sent to prison.
After the confirmation of the court order, the officers of the Municipal Civil Guard informed the man about his constitutional rights and carried out the necessary procedures to comply with the warrant.
Afterwards, he was sent to Prison Hildebrando de Souza, in Ponta Grossa, where he was handed over to comply with the judicial determination.
The occurrence was recorded around 19:50, in the central region of the municipality. The man’s identity and age were not disclosed in the press release.
Nor was the crime or procedural situation that motivated the issuance of the arrest warrant informed.
Approach occurred in area with traffic reports
According to the report of the Municipal Civil Guard, the area of forest from which the couple left is the subject of recurring complaints related to the trafficking of narcotics.
Despite this history, no illicit material was found during the approach. Thus, the information available does not indicate the couple's involvement with drug trafficking in this occurrence.
The execution of the arrest warrant in Ponta Grossa occurred after consultation with the national system, which allowed to identify the pending court order against the man.
