Sengés and Palmeira, in the Campos Gerais, won awards from the State Court of Accounts of the Paraná (TCE-PR) for their performance in public management. The awards were presented during the event ProGov – Management that Transforms Public Policies, held on Tuesday (13) and Wednesday (14), in Curitiba.

The two municipalities are members of the Association of Municipalities of Campos Gerais (AMCG). The awards recognized results in different areas of public policy administration and governance evaluated by the program.

Sengés receives two awards

Sengés was awarded in the areas of Transparency, Control and Relationship with the Citizen and Education. According to the mayor Gerson Nunes, who also presides over AMCG, the municipality was among the two Paraná cities that received two awards at the event, next to Maringá. For the mayor, the recognitions reflect the participation of different sectors of the municipal administration and the community.

“Receiving these two awards is a source of great joy and pride for Sengés. This achievement is the result of the work of the whole team,” he said. Gerson also thanked the city secretaries, Deputy Mayor Motta, the councilors and the population. According to the mayor, the goal of the administration is to continue improving public services and the quality of life of residents.

In education, the municipal secretary Valdirene Aparecida Bulka highlighted the contribution of the professionals of the education network. According to her, the award values the work of educators and teams responsible for collecting information and improving educational policies.

Palmeira stands out in financial management

Palmeira won the outstanding award in Financial Administration, in the category of Paraná municipalities with a population between 25,000 and 50,000 inhabitants. The evaluation considers aspects of the public budget, finance, accounting, taxation and active debt. The recognition includes practices aimed at accountability and efficiency in the application of public resources.

The municipality was represented at the ceremony by Mayor Altamir Sanson, the Municipal Secretary of Finance, Vitor Henrique Rocha, and the Controller General, Elisama Nogueira. Altamir attributed the result to the planning and performance of the servants responsible for municipal finances.
