Video reveals moment of arrest in Ponta Grossa of man convicted of killing his wife
A 46-year-old man was located in the Oficinas neighborhood; convicted to 30 years in prison, he was wanted for the murder committed in Arapongas in 2010
A video records the moment of the arrest of a 46-year-old man, sentenced to 30 years in prison for the murder of his then wife, located on the morning of Tuesday (27), in the neighborhood of Talleres, in Ponta Grossa. The arrest was carried out by the Civil Police of Paraná (PCPR), in compliance with a court order.

The images show the execution of the arrest warrant, the result of an investigation conducted by the Arapongas Civil Police, in the north of Paraná. After surveys and monitoring, the investigators requested operational support from the 13th Police Subdivision of Ponta Grossa to locate and arrest the convict.
According to PCPR, the man has resided in Ponta Grossa since 2010. The corporation reported that he fled to the municipality of Campos Gerais after the murder, in order to hide and escape justice.
Crime happened inside the couple’s home.
According to the police note, the murder occurred on the night of November 21, 2010, in Arapongas. The 26-year-old victim was attacked with a knife inside the residence where she lived with her husband.
Civil police said the woman suffered several blows to the chest and back. The crime was witnessed by the 11-year-old son, according to the company’s statement.
After the attack, the man also sustained injuries to his abdomen, received hospital care and survived.
Condemnation by the Jury Court
The case was tried by the Court of the Jury of the District of Arapongas. According to PCPR, the jury recognized the qualifiers of futile motive, use of cruel means and recourse that made it difficult to defend the victim, in addition to the aggravating one related to domestic violence against women.
The sentence established a sentence of 30 years in prison, with determination of immediate execution in regime fechado. After being located and imprisoned in Workshops, the man was referred to the penitentiary system to begin the fulfillment of the sentence. The note released by the Civil Police does not inform the date of the trial or when the warrant was issued.
